Full review
I’ve been using the HP LaserJet 1200 mono (not colour) printer at work for a while now, so I thought I would attempt to write a review on it and tell you all what a great reliable little model this actually is, although a little expensive but I’ll get to that later.

From memory it was, as most printers are these days fairly easy to set up, even someone that’s techno phobic could install this fairly easily within a few minutes (5 at the very most), of course with the little CD and Wizard prompting you along the way.

Following installation, it prompts you to print a test page enabling you to ensure all is working as it should be and I’m pleased to say it was, the thing I noticed was how quick it was in comparison with the model before (that was incidentally an antique!), as I had just completed some paperwork earlier that morning, I decided to give it a fair old run and print off some paperwork (70 pages) I had completed earlier that morning, so I loaded the printer tray with some A4 paper and then sent all 70 documents to printer, I was impressed, it was complete within around 5 minutes (15 pages per minute) and the quality was superb, very clear but I must stress at this point the quality of the paper is very important as in the past I have used some cheap paper when we have ran out and the quality was not so impressive, tending to blur slightly in places.

The best thing I have found about the printer is there is hardly any noise, in fact you would hardly be aware there was a printer in the office, I mean the last thing you want when you are on the telephone is the awful squeaking noises that some printers can make when you are trying to conduct a serious conversation (as if).

If you find your office photocopier is a bit of a walk away, then don’t worry cause this little package will also give you the ability to photocopy pages, simply feed into tray and press the copy button and fairly quickly you’ll be in possession of a photocopy, so it’s not just a pretty face you see, it’s office friendly.

It comes complete with everything needed to get you started, a user manual, USB cable, HP Software (includes interactive users manual, printing suggestions, address to purchase ink cartridges and support), also included was of course a black ink printer cartridge – which would normally set you back around £40, pricey I know but one cartridge does last you a good while or to make it easier around 2,500 pages.

For all it’s actually a personal printer, it does seem to weigh more than the average – at a guess I would say around 3.5-4 kgs, which in comparison with say my little Compaq IJ300 at home is fairly hefty.

Here comes the painful bit, it will set you back somewhere in the region of £300, but if you can afford and need something that will print you good quality documents in a hurry without bringing in the ceiling, then this is worth looking at.

As I said we have been using this for almost a year now and even though it does tend to get heavily used, probably 50-250 pages per day, it’s proved pretty reliable and as yet we have had no problems with it (touch wood).

Perfect Printer!!!
Review of HP LaserJet 1200 by newby2

Advantages: works great
Disadvantages: none

Hp Laser Jet 1200 I am not much of a technical minded person but I do however know what Is good and what is bad for the things I need. This is a printer that sits on my desk at work and to be honest could do with a bit of an upgrade. It is though, perfect for everything that I need at work. Because this printer is at work and prints a lot faster than my one at home I find myself printing most of my documents at the work place even those things ...
...because as I say this HP LaserJet 1200 prints a lot faster than my own home printer. The LaserJet printer takes up rather a large amount of space on my tiny desk at work but because it is one of the most used things on the desk this is of course no trouble to me. I have had this particular printer for a few years and I think when we change premises, which is in the next few months, we will all be getting new equipment and I shall be sorry to see ... It was on a bottom shelf as well, because the top of the desk only held the computer monitor. It is an economy sized desk because we don't have much room in the lounge where the computer lives. ... The Territorial Army of the printing world
Review of HP LaserJet 1200 by Plymyphil

Advantages: Manages heavy workload, looks good
Disadvantages: None to note

...up and along came the HP LaserJet 1200 from the back office. Carefully manoeuvred into position by the worker of the back office, the HP LaserJet, never designed to be a workgroup printer, was placed in the firing line. For a full week the agony of frontline printer action was levelled at it and hey ... it did pretty well. Apart from a couple of jams when it neared the end of its 260 page paper tray, the printer survived the week before hurrying ...

Seriously though – this is a personal printer and therefore not intended for vast outputs and yet for a short spell it performed just fine. That for me is enough to recommend this printer for small to medium enterprises. The long term printing has been reliable ... Read review

Well, I've had this printer for two years...
Review of HP LaserJet 1200 by KatherineA

Advantages: Good quality output, sturdy, reliable
Disadvantages: Expensive, on the slow side

To it's credit the HP 1200 series has faithfully served me for over two years without any kinds of faults: PLUS POINTS 1) It has never had a paper jam (and I've fed some pretty cheap paper through it). 2) Output has always been of very good quality. Only degrading when the ink cartridge is nearly run out. 3) It has never crashed or had any software problems with connecting with my PC. (Sony Viao) 4) It was very easy to set up. The instruction ...
...be if we bought the HP cartridges. There is a shop near us that refills black ink cartridges which is about half the price of being new each time. Certainly check out your local area for a service like this. 3) This printer was expensive - over £200 when we bought it from dabs.com. Yes, its realiable, and I'm doing a high volume of printing but if you are just using a printer for home use, you don't need to spend that much on a printer. CONCLUSIONS ... Read review

HL-1250 - Speedy, reliable, inexpensive
Review of Brother HL 1250 by  pc-tech

Advantages: Print speed, quality, upgradability, price, reliability, quite small, easy to print on envelopes/small paper, Works under Windows XP
Disadvantages: Square design, 4MB memory not enough for some image printing, supplied drivers not excellent

...ones print with the right colours but do not have all features of the Brother drivers. 5. The famous flickering light problem. Every product that is released today seems to have one problem that everyone dotes on. This is the HL1250 one; when the printer is turned on, it makes the lights dim for a second approximately every half-a-minute. This is a true problem, but it only happens when the printer is actually on (it goes into standby after a couple of minutes), and I barely notice it now. I would in no way count this against the printer. OTHER COMMENTS The upgradability of this machine is good - an extra 250 page paper tray can be added, bringing total paper capacity up to 500 sheets. An ethernet card can also be added for network connectivity. I had to choose between this and an HP LaserJet 1200. I chose this because... Read review

AS FAST AS GREASED LIGHTNING
Review of HP LaserJet 1300 by  catrinaf

Advantages: Extremely Quick
Disadvantages: Poor Quality Graphics

...I've been using this printer at work for over a year now and decided it was about time that I wrote a review about it. **What is it** The HP 1300 is a black and white laser jet printer and was designed to replace the HP 1200 **Appearance** The printer is quite large in size measuring 245 x 410 x 485 mm (including paper tray) and weighing 19lb. This resembles a bread bin, as do most printers, with the paper tray sticking out of the front. The printer is a creamy grey colour so it does tend to show the dirt up. The Hewlett - Packard logo is on the front of the printer with ' hp laser jet 1300' written underneath. There is one large oval shaped button, and two LED's on the front. There is a removable side panel where the USB cable and parallel connections can be located. ** Specifications** Max resolution - 1200 dpi... Read review
