I have been a member of my local Harper's Fitness club for about a year now, and i really have nothing bad to say about either the staff or the facilities.
Since I joined, I have changed my programme a few times, and the staff are always ready and willing to help. The induction is the worst bit, but that is everywhere, it's a bit less daunting than anywhere else I have tried.
The only fault as I mentioned was the kids in the school holidays, but they're not so bad either, it is an advantage to mothers as they have a well run creche too.
The fact that it is run at a leisure centre gives the added advantage of swimming, squash, tennis, football, sauna and steam, sunbeds and a good sized bar along with many other facilities all included in the package.
There is a really good atmosphere in the gym, with satellite television music channels members can make requests to get you in the mood for pumping iron, or to give you a good rhythm for the steppers.
the classes are really inviting, with women and men (yes, men!) of all shapes and sizes getting involved, and the instructors are all really bubbly characters making it more of a fun outing than a boring trip to the gym. They are always up for new ideas for classes and are always slightly changing the routines so it doesn't get monotonous.
