I have only seen one injury when the horse was left in the stable (not mine) for a very short length of time. The horse managed to catch the headcollar on something on the stable door resulting in a visit from the vet and stitches in the face of the horse. So, whilst it is unlikely for the horse to sustain an injury from the headcollar, it does happen, so for this reason I tend to remove it unless I am leading or tying up. Low rise drawstring Jodphurs by Harry Hall.

Advantages: Quick to put on and take off.
Disadvantages: Fit not as good as others.

Due to the fact that I ride several horses, I do own several pairs of jodphurs. I must be honest and admit that I do ride in jeans but these need to be thin and stretchy preferably. Jodphurs are made specifically with horse riding in mind for comfort and durability, so why do I keep wearing jeans?! I tend to wear what is comfortable and functional. Horse riding does create patches of wear and I have recently invested in several new pairs of jodphurs. I am going to endeavour to wear these from now on. instead of jeans. My favourite riding boots, Harry Hall Faro.

Advantages: Comfortable.
Disadvantages: Sole coming away.

I ride most days at least once and I have a variety of riding boots, both short and long. I have had some Harry Hall Faro riding boots for about 18 months now and I have round them really comfortable to ride in. I use them most of the time. Harry Hall Ladies Faro Boots. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The boots are available in brown or black, mine are black. They are constructed from waterproof leather, almost with the appearance of moleskin. The sole is vibram whatever that is, it is a thick rubber type sole offering good grip. The boots have a long zip at the back which is easy to undo and do up. It also has an adjustable fastening above the zip.
