Iv'e had this racket for approx 6 months. Was moving from a Babolat Aeropro drive (original), only because I just don't think the Babolat is particularly suited to my game (And the strings broke!). I'm a steady player, not brilliant but still play well. I bought it from the Tennis Warehouse website in the US. I had it custom strung with Head Sonic Pro 17 gauge string at 60lbs. I didn't know much about the strings or the tension but enough to kinda know what I was doing after reading many reviews! At first I found the racket hard to get used to, shots spraying all over the shop and just pretty poor play! However, I think this was down to my ability at the time and the change between rackets. I decided to keep playing with it anyway, (I didnt have much choice as the Babolat was being re-strung anyway). After few days of hitting my strokes were getting better, especially my single handed backhand. This is the stroke I have trouble with most and I have to say they were improving drastically. Both forehand and backhand strokes now had some good power and some nice top spin, not to mention unbelievable angles which I could just never do with the Babolat. When hitting technically sound strokes, they were second to none! Serves were also pretty good, not super fast but enough to make your opponent struggle somewhat. I'm a short player so taller folks might well be able to generate more power on the serve. The kick serve was also working quite well, again better than with the Babolat. I'm not much of a volleyer but when I did they came off with varying success. I think this was more down to my volleying than the rackets ability so to speak. Slices were pretty good, not all that much touch though I have to say but good enough for me. When watching tennis they make smashes look like the easiest shot on court. No way! Not for me, probably one of the hardest! However, with this racket they were also improving, even smashes from near the baseline! The more I played with it the better my overall game became. I wasn't sure what to expect from the racket but most reviews said it was pretty good so I bought it, and I have to say I am pretty glad I did! Mega bummer at the moment as the strings broke about a month ago (and then being re-strung with the wrong strings!), however, I have just recently purchased more of the Head Sonic pro strings and should be back on court with this great racket in no time! I bought it for around $99 which is probably around £80 perhaps? Now Iv'e seen it available from £50. A bargain I think. It might not be a perfect players racket or the perfect racket for me, i'm really not sure, but It was great for improving my game and was pretty impressed overall. I'm not sure what to do at the moment, whether to purchase another one or to go for a more advanced racket, I'm trying to find the perfect racket, but this will certainly allow me to win many more games to come! If you do purchase the racket, you might like to use the Head Sonic pro strings, great for spin and creating great angle shots! Would much prefer it to my Babolat AeroPro Drive. Anyone else feel that the Babolat is not right for them? I would like to know!
