I needed to do something drastic and so i decided to join a fitness centre.Healthlands has wonderful facilities 2 pools plenty of cardio equipment free weights a choice of classes suitable 4 all levels of fitness and a spin class(an airconditioned room full of cycle equipment which im told can burn up to 800 calories each class !!a real challenge and one i have only attempted twice im not sadistic u see!)The one problem i found was you are signed up as member and each healthland rep is obviously on a commission u r therefore bombarde with phone calls before you join. However i decided it was for me and signed on the doted line your payments are taken via a direct debit but that is all you pay the facilities are then free .You get free lockers ,water, programmes and instruction .The showers are clean and a steam room is welcome after a work out a creche is available at a small fee so you can take your children.The hours are excellent its open 7am-10pm mon-sat and 8-7 sundays so you can fit your training in to suit your lifestyle.They also have a health cafe where u can take refreshments after a work out.Its also a nice environment to wind down after work .
