Helly Hansen Gunwhale Jacket

...After the success with the Helly Hansen undershorts I had to try out a base layer jersey. I have tried dri-fit tops before, and whilst they have been good and locking away most of the moisture, I have never tried one which has kept my as dry as the Helly Hansen Lifa. Like the Lifa shorts, the top is made out of 100% polypropylene. As with the shorts tha top is skin tight and seamless to ensure that moisture is kept away from the skin and to ensure that there is zero chaffing. Just like the shorts - the lifa is designed to be a base layer and have another top or jersey put over the top. The advert states ideal for warm to cool days - I think that this top is for cool to cold days since it is very warm. ...' available hence I could wear the proper kit and pull on a 'normal' pair of shorts over the top. The shorts recommended were the Helly Hansen made out of the new Lifa material. This is effectively polypropylene - a material which is very figure hugging and absorbent. It attracts all moisture and locks it away from the skin, hence keeping you dry and preventing you getting cold. The shorts have what can only be described a nappy inside. This additional padding is between the buttocks and groin to provide additional comfort. To prevent chaffing the shorts are seamless. I tried the shorts on. The padding around the rear, hips and groin felt terrible. "These were meant to be more comfortable!". I was sceptical. I went for a walk around the shop.
