Advantages: Not quite good as Manchester Disadvantages: Really expensive membership
...I enjoy going to the gym. I think David Lloyds has to be the best one i have been to so far.
I took a visit to David Lloyd in Cheadle, North West.
How did i get there.....
I drove there and it was really easy to find. It is situated just off the A34 which is really close to Manchester Airport. I just rolled up in my car in the free parking area.
First Impressions of the area......
Not bad actually. It was on a complex wich contained the gym, a brewsters restaraunt and a Travel Inn next to it. I supose i could actually spend all day here.
And from there......
Inside was good. I first spoke to the receptionist who was very helpful indeed. She went on to explain offers, discounts and what they had to offer. I found this really helpful so not a bad start at all.
I made my way to the changing rooms, which were well...

Advantages: modern eqipment, clean, family friendly Disadvantages: bit pricey
...David lloyd luton is tucked away on the capability green site, about a mile from m1 junction 10.
A good level of gym equipment, 25 meter indoor pool, spa and sauna. A packed list of the usual studio classes along with spinning.
There is also a restaurant and licensed bar, restaurant rest area also has internet access.
This is a family and child friendly club which also has a crèche. I found this club to be spotlessly clean throughout.
David lloyd clubs famous for their tennis, disappointingly there are no racquet facilities at the luton site. You can apparently use other david lloyds health clubs after being a member for 6 months or more.
The prices quoted for an individual were £65 per month
£90 joining fee,
No contract, but 3 months notice...

Advantages: Good changing rooms, a good amount of aerobic equipment Disadvantages: Not enough free weights and weight based equipment as a whole.
...I've been a member of David Lloyd Cheadle for nearly seven years now (since 2001) and have always really enjoyed my experience there. O.K. it may be a bit expensive but for me it's (or was) well worth it, and they deserved to charge such an amount.
However, since they've done the STUPID refurbishment in Summer 2007 they've made the club much worse! This is because there used to be more types of equipment before and two (sometimes three!) of each of it meaning that you didn't have to wait for so long to use the equipment you wanted (thats if you had to wait at all). Why the refurbishment has resulted in a reduction of the equipment, I don't know? Not only that the new equipment doesn't feel as good and as smooth as the old one as it's very poorly made by the manufacturers technogym (in my opinion). However, it's important to add...

This review is on yet another of Roald Dahl's books, which is actually a collection of short stories. The name of it is The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More, and was published by Penguin (well mine is anyway). It was priced at £6.99, but if... more
Having stormed through a quick succession of 4 vacuum cleaners in as many years, I asked a friend (who also happened to be a cleaner) what she used at home.
Well, it was like opening the floodgates. After running through what she categorised as rubbish... more
