Hi-Tec V-Lite Valhalla CF Sport Golf Shoes

Hi-Tec 4 SYS Badminton Shoes - good for basic needs player.

Advantages: Excellent grip and very light.
Disadvantages: Narrow shoe.

Overall these are very decent shoes for the money. Great grip on court and very light. Though you have a wider foot, like myself, these shoes are not for you. They are quite narrow and take some stretching. Order a (UK) half size larger than you are usually for best fit. I've been playing a regular 6 - 9 hours a week for 6 months while wearing these shoes and they have fared quite well. With all the stop/start and lunging and jumping movements of playing badminton the "High Tec" logo has come away from the shoe (where it is glued) and the stitching has begun to split away from the logo. This is probably just wear and tear from regular/hard usage. I'd recommend these shoes for a badminton player of good ability but someone who only plays 3-4 hours per week. ...

Footjoy AQL Golf Shoes

Advantages: Look nice,
Disadvantages: Only lasted 5 rounds of golf.

Purchased a pair of these golf shoes three weeks ago on th 29-Sept-2009.Whn they arrived the looked super and just what I wanted smart wee bit flash and Footjoy.After one round of golf they look like my old ones with the white leather across they front creasing badly.I tried puting leather protector on as footjoy said I should,all this has done no good today after five rounds of golf they are starting to split along the bottom.They are now on there way back to the shop who supplied them.(the shop is superb and it is not there fault).In summary there are plenty of very good golf shoes out there unfortunately The Footjoy AQL does not appear to be the best.I do have three other pairs of footjoy shoes which have served me well so this may be just a one off. ...

Helluva mess in Valhalla

Advantages: Enjoyable, readable individual stories, but...
Disadvantages: A bit loosely put together, good individual stories which don't seem to make one book

Tom Holt is an author I enjoy but wouldn't call one of my favourites. If I find his books cheap I will buy them and really enjoy them, but I wouldn't buy them at full jacket price as I would with some other authors. He has written a plethora of books, totalling 40!!! Holt is a British author. Born in 1961 in London. Although best know for his comic novels, Holt has also had a volume of poetry published as well as some historical novels written as Thomas Holt. Holt's comic novels are usually parodies of famous myths or historical tales. The book I am reviewing here is Valhalla. This is one of his comic fantasies, first published in 2000 by Orbit (mine's a second edition from 2001, still from Orbit). On my copy, Tom Holt is written in nice red kid-like letters.
