Like a bottle but much better
Review of Camelbak Rogue 70oz Hydration Pack by
Pritch
Advantages: Robust, convenient
Disadvantages: Difficult to clean, not much cargo space
...at this point, the word Camelbak crept into my mind.
The Rogue is much the same as any other Camelbak in that it has a large blue reservoir with a tube waving somewhere near your mouth, carrying as two litres. This also keeps your drink pleasantly cool for a long time and has none of the plasticky taste that I'd expected.
In addition to the large insulated reservoir pocket at the back of the Rogue, there are two other pockets on the front, one ... ...feel cautious about snagging the Camelbak on a tree. This turns out not to be the case, and you soon get used to it, forgetting about it until you need to take a sip.
Another pleasant thing about the Camelbak is the way that the mouthpiece isn't affected by mud thrown up from your front wheel in the same way that bottles are.
Now the only problem is how to clean the thing. Camelbak sell a reservoir dryer, specially designed to allow air to get ...

A great rucksack with many pouches and uses
Review of CamelBak Havoc by
drizelthecam66
Advantages: Great for sking, many pockets
Disadvantages: Can't think of any, such a good bag
This is the perfect rucksack for any adventurers out there, with many pockets for specific uses, like a soft pocket for goggles or glasses, a pocket for avalanche probes, and a pocket and hole for mp3 player and head phones, also great for biking due to the 2 litre hydration pack that is neatly stored haning from the bag, the tube has a lock so no water can dribble out. Very thin and extremely compfortable. the fabric is very durable and has two ...

Rucksack with Reins
Review of Littlelife Toddler Daysack by
RClure
Advantages: has long life span from 6 months to approx 4 years
Disadvantages: not machine washable
...admit, I'd never heard of LittleLife before. After a bit of research, I have discovered that they design products especially for active families who enjoy outdoor activities and travelling. They introduced their first series of products only two years ago in 2003, initially focusing on child carriers and accessories, they now produce ultra-light travel cots (very trendy) as well as first aid kits. The designers boast enjoying spending a lot of time ... ...the coloured band is the LittleLife logo and to the left of this is a picture of an animal - elephant on the blue, not sure about the red one. Either side of the coloured band is some reflective grey piping and to the left is a half sized netted outside pocket. On the top of the bag is a bright yellow handle which is in cord but covered in a very sturdy, clear plastic coating which is easy to keep clean. The zip opening has a long (2 inch) tab to ...

A quality pack for a rough user.
Review of Berghaus Cyclops 3 by
leddy
Advantages: Well built, Good load transfer, Non sweat back system
Disadvantages: Heavy, looks slightly odd, Occipital cavity doesnt work, front pocket opening too small.
...lads. Of course berghaus arent unique in using this method of sizing, a number of firms use it but the vast majorty of packs are adjustable/
So whats on the pack? Well there have been some tweeks since i bought mine in 2002. Starting from the bottom up theres a hib belt with what berghaus describe as "grabber" fins, what this means that the hip belts uses a mix of firm and softer foams on a precurved plate so it wraps around the wearers hips. In ... ...is a waterproofed zip. Why Berghaus decided to put a waterproof zip at the side of the pack when the pack itself is not waterproff is beyond me, but when traveling abroad in hot climates it is a great feature - you can just reach in and grab something.
At the front of the pack there is a pocket. I have heard hat this pocket is fully waterproof on 2004 versions of the cyclops, but in 2002 it had a mesh drainage patch at the bottom. The idea being ...

A big, big bag
Review of The North Face Base Camp Duffel - X-Large by
MountainGoat
Advantages: Size, durability and rucksack style straps
Disadvantages: Comfort if carrying for extended periods of time (> 1hr)
- The product:
Its a bag... a big bag... a very big bag... 140L to be precise. Because of its large capacity its also large in size so those with a small body may find it hard to carry, for those vertically challenged people amongst us possibly consider the smaller 80-100L bags. - Appearance: The bag comes in a variety of colours (I chose a nice and boring black colour so as not to stand out too much, you could go for the yellow though...). - Practicality:
... ...be pretty strong to carry the bag for any length of time and most importantly I think detatchable rucksack style carrying straps for carrying, well, like a rucksack!
There is one internal mesh pocket which built into the main flap on the top of the bag, zip closing but stuff falls out of this quite easily into the main comartment when the zip is open.
Because of the large d-shaped lid its relatively easy to access things inside the bag.
When not ...
