Luckily, they were insured, and after looking for a big store that could totally kit me out again with my new stuff, I came to Hingleys.
The reason that I wanted to collect everything from one store, was to keep things simple. I even found at hingleys ... ...this) to make the most of my claim (if you know what I mean - good for them and good for me). Their quote was the best that I received. Better even than some of the more well known stores such as Bennets (who are also good).
Since then I've used them on a number of occasions. Obviously, living in Cornwall (with the shop being in the West Midlands), I don't ever get the chance to visit, but their mailorder service is very reliable, ... more

For many items of tackle they cannot be beaten. I have not often noticed them running many sales, but their normal prices, on items such as rods and poles, are excellent. Hundreds of pounds can be saved here.
Their catalogue is one of the biggest I've seen, although this years was not so impressive. Its content is immense, especially with brands such as Shakespeare, although the quality is lacking. Pictures are poor.
I checked their website this morning at www.hingleys.com and this seemed to make up for the lack of picture quality in the catalogue. Its a nice site, but did run a bit slow. They had many bargains posted here, especially for carp gear. You can order their catalogue here too.
Advantages: Friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: None really. Although parking by the store can be difficult
My husband has used this store over the last 20 years and always found the staff to be helpful. They stock a large range of products and are always willing to do a deal. Whilst in this store you must look at the large range of carp baits. Their range of maggots and castors are always good quality.
This is a store we would recommend most highly for anyone who has just started fishing. The staff will give excellent advice on the necessary equipment ...
