...months become a member of Holmes Place, mainly because I need to get in shape again and loose those extra pounds that have materialised on my torso without my consent. The gym is also right outside Hendon Central Underground station, so I can't help but think of it as I'm going home each day. No excuses I told myself like "it's too far", or "I keep on forgetting to go" basically it's the antithesis of 'out of sight out of mind'.
The gym itself is ... ...fat.(I'm not actually fat but I used to be in super shape). Another good thing with the Holmes Place chain is they have lots of branches all over London and even abroad such as Tel-Aviv (in Israel) and you can link your membership with that gym for an extra £5. ...

Advantages: Smaller, more friendly, near the tube station Disadvantages: Small pool, smaller gym in total, no big car park and hard to park sometimes as it is near the tube.
I used to be a member of Hendon and now I am a member of Cricklewood, read on to find out why!
Well the main reason was the pool it is titchy in size, absolutely minature and not only that but there are times when you can't swim, such as when it is men's only, woman's only or children when its really really busy and starts to remind me of a big bath. You really have to time your swimming sessions if you want to have a GOOD swim. The other reason ... ...knew and I spent most of my time trying to exercise whilst people wanted to talk to me. Also I don't look my best when I go to the gym so I would rather go somewhere anonymous. The staff were really friendly and I don't fault that at all, in fact they are more friendly than they are in Cricklewood, where I am now.
But if you live in Hendon and are thinking of joining a gym I suggest that you join Cricklwood. It is bigger, there is a bigger pool, ...
