Hope Moto M6 Disc Brake Disc Brake 203mm Rotor Lever: New \Moto\" lever giving smooth, progressive feel. Bite point control to adjust lever feel. Split clamp for easy fitting. Integrated master cylinder reservoir for easy bleeding. Adjustable lever reach. Braided hose as standard Caliper: One piece caliper, machined from solid billet of aluminum. As well as reducing weight, this also allows us to make a more rigid caliper, improving the lever feel. Silver caliper with black bore caps allowing access for servicing. Caliper pistons are now made from phenolic to isolate the caliper from the heat generated in the pads. Disc: 203mm Two part floating disc included with aluminum center and hardened stainless steel braking area reduces weight in these larger disc diameters and handles extremes in temperature on long Alpine descents."
Advantages: Stops well, works in mud, doesn't fade Disadvantages: Can be a little trying to get fitted correctly, can be noisy at times
...is somewhat bigger, with options of 165 and 185mm at the front, and 145 and 165mm at the back. Hope have also chosen this brake to be the first to benefit from their new bubble rotor design, the disc itself being a strange lumpy shape instead of round, for no apparent reason.
The brake is supplied assembled by the factory, so you don't need to worry about getting brake fluid everywhere, unless you need to shorten the hose. The brake comes with a hose designed for big monster downhill bikes, so my tiny XC bike need some modifications to be carried out. Simple enough, spanner to take the hose off with, knife to cut it, and some DOT 5.1 brake fluid from your nearest Halfords (in the car section, not bikes!). As anyone who has ever bled the braking system on a car will tell you, getting the air out is a pain, although as later found out, it goes...

Advantages: Superior build quailty and maintence free Disadvantages: Set up is time consuming
...I bought these brakes6 months ago for my hard tail, I had looked at many other brakes like Hayes and Maguras but they didn't have the excellent quality and stopping power that the HopeM4's have. The brakes came pre-bled so it was just a case of bolting them on and aligning them. This can be a bit time consuming as the pads sit close to the rotor so they have to aligned well to stop any rubbing.
Once everything is set up these brakes are virtually maintenance free, only have to replace the pads ever so often. The system stops any air leaks very well, I haven't had to re bleed them in the 6 months i have had them.
Superb brakes that stop you in an instance and will not break however many times I crash and land on them....

Advantages: Super strong and light, sealed bearings means it will work forever Disadvantages: 20mm axle means it wont work on all forks
...Another excellent product from the Hope range.
The hub is perfect for all types of riding, its light enough for xc riders and also strong enough for the downhill riders. It runs on sealed cartridge bearings that are easily changeable, instructions can be found on the Hope website. The hub body is made of cnc'd aluminum so its light and still strong. It also has the standard 6-bolt disc mount so its compatible with all brake systems. The 20mm axle means it creates a very stiff wheel and front end of the bike that will take all abuse. It comes in all the standard hope colours so you can easily match it to you colour scheme.
A superb hub well worth the money, it will last forever...
