Mini brake Big performance
Review of Hope Mini by

Advantages: Stops well, works in mud, doesn't fade
Disadvantages: Can be a little trying to get fitted correctly, can be noisy at times
..., complete with photos and exploded diagrams which goes into more detail on the Mini.
With the brake happily sitting on the front of my bike, time for a ride. At first, braking is a bit dodgy, and you wonder why you spent all this money on something that doesn't really work. At this point it's worth remembering that both rotor and pads are brand new and haven't done a day's work in their lives. Get them both worn in a bit, and the power is where you need it. The lever feels a little strange at first. It turned out this was due to the reach that I had setup on it. Whip out the allen keys, quick tweak and we're sorted. Easy to control and it feels good and positive.
Speaking of controllability, the brake is an open system design. I don't understand all the technical details of this (although if you're that interested, Hope's website...

Hope M4 Brakes
Review of Hope Open 4 System Front 185 by
bikerider1
Advantages: Superior build quailty and maintence free
Disadvantages: Set up is time consuming
...I bought these brakes 6 months ago for my hard tail, I had looked at many other brakes like Hayes and Maguras but they didn't have the excellent quality and stopping power that the Hope M4's have. The brakes came pre-bled so it was just a case of bolting them on and aligning them. This can be a bit time consuming as the pads sit close to the rotor so they have to aligned well to stop any rubbing.
Once everything is set up these brakes are virtually maintenance free, only have to replace the pads ever so often. The system stops any air leaks very well, I haven't had to re bleed them in the 6 months i have had them.
Superb brakes that stop you in an instance and will not break however many times I crash and land on them....

Hope M4 Front Brake 185
Review of Hope Open 4 System Front 185 by
madmax900
Advantages: 4 pot brake, hard wearing, solid build quality.
Disadvantages: Difficult to set up.
...I bought these a couple of years ago and I have never ridden with a brake that is so good. I rode with maguras for a while and when I upgraded to the Hope discs i could tell the difference immediately.
these brakes are used by some of the top riders in the world so that obviously shows that they are a top component to add to your bike.
Once set up they can be left until new pads are needed, they take a little time to set up however once they are done they are excellent, they do not need bleeding very often as they stop air getting into the system very well.
Do not buy any other brake system, this is the best and worth every penny....
