...Petrol bills are falling rapidly in East Belfast. My latest acquisition might turn the whole fuel crisis around in a week or two. If you have shares in the oil industry, now is the time to offload them. And if you are a tanker driver, just be thankful there is still some demand left for your services - that might not long be the case. I've bought a bike ! It is possible, of course, that the big fall will be me, not the fuel cost - balance is not my main gift!. It is possible that that fuel demand will increase as ambulances race across the Belfast skyline to pick up the bits and pieces that are left of me, once I hit the roads. And it is possible that tanker drivers will all resign the moment they catch sight of my lycra clad rear end on their horizon. So what is going on here!? 1 The Big idea. Advantages: great excercise

...This excersise bike is great for the price, it has a sensor in the hand grip that monitors your pulse wholst you are on the bike, has a screen which is quite big so very clear to see that you can check what your pulse is, how far you have cycled, calories burned and how long you have been on the bike. There is a black dial further down from the handle bars that allows you to change the resistance at the same time as riding the bike so you can make it harder or softer as you need to, it is a very sturdy bike but the seat isnt very comfortable at all which is a real shame as other than this it is a great bike, it doesnt fold away for storage so you will need space to store it when not in use.... Advantages: VFM, Light, good components, nice seating position
Disadvantages: Not a mountain bike

...I already owned an ageing Raleigh racing bike, and I always felt that I would enjoy cycling more if I was not battling against the bike so much. So this year, I bought myself a San Rafael City Bike, by Marin. I am suprised to see that Marin were not already in the ciao headings. I don't know a great deal about bikes, but I know enough to know I like this bike! It has front suspension, and a mountain bike look, but with nice road tyres. It is lovely and light, and has excellent push/pull gear changers - bit like my old grifter! I like the upright seating position. I am using the bike to go to work, and leisure cycling at the weekends. I wont be doing much off roading, but I know I could go off-road if necessary. Not mountain climbing, but honestly - how many people with mountain bikes actually use them for that purpose... Read review
