like this one. Of course there are better rowers - at a price; and yes there are cheaper machines - but usually at the expense of performance quality and feel. The Oxford II is simply outstanding value for money and allows you to perform a rowing exercise smoothly and in great style. Inevitably it gets compared with a Concept 2 because it has air/fan resistance. Is it as good as a Concept 2? Of course not. The Concept 2 is the benchmark of air rowers a full commercial machine. If you want a Concept 2 buy a Concept 2 even if you have to save up for a while. Otherwise you`ll end up disappointed no matter how good the Oxford II rower is. So if you want a really good rowing machine to get fit on at home without breaking the bank we think this is the best one to choose. At half the price of the Concept 2 you won't find a better value rowing machine for the home or small gym. Downside? Its a long machine - be sure it will fit. And remember its a fan which creates the resistance so its a little noisy - not a lot though (not like a treadmill) but we just want you to be aware of it. The Oxford II CS provides feedback on time heart rate distance calories strokes and counter (per minute). EXTREMELY GOOD VALUE AT THIS PRICE AND THEREFORE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY US. Home Warranty: Lifetime on Frame 3 Years Parts and Labour. Limited Commercial Warranty: 1 year frame parts & labour.

We wish all fitness products "hit the spot" and "ticked the boxes" like this one. Advantages: Durable, versatile, heavyweight, fully programmable Disadvantages: Very heavy, need to be plugged in for computer to work.
...I have found this to be an excellent rowing machine, especially after using the concept rowers at gyms. It compares very well against them. The computer gives you the ability to really up the tension as you progress. It also offers you bespoke programmes similar to that in treadmills and cycling machines for overall cariovascular workouts. You can even direct the air back on you to provide some much needed air whilst you are woking out. It needs to be plugged in for computuer to work, but its a great all round machine. The seat runs very smoothly and the pulling mechanism is seat-belt like material, so very durable. It is extreemly heavy and so not easy to move, but the seat running bar can be unlocked and lifted upright to make storage easier....

Advantages: Ease of use and worlds best Disadvantages: Huge! Very costly.
...I am what you would describe as a fitness freak and have used many pieces of gym equipment. The Concept 2 Rower is bar far the most superior rower I have used. I use the Model E which is a newer version of the rower and immediately recongised by the frame being higher off the ground allowing a raised seating position which in my opinion is a far more natural and comfortable position.
This rower is fitted with a performance Monitor known as PM4, simply the key pad you enter the distance/time and so forth. Being wireless enabled allows you to actually race another rower using a concept 2, as well as wireless heart rate monitoring.
The rower even has a game function which allows you to actually add some enjoyment into your workout, it consists of a simple fish game where you must avoid the larger fish and eat the smaller ones...

Advantages: Solid Construction Disadvantages: Uncomfortable Seat
...included especially considering the price which is probably too high even considering the solid construction. Both the heart rate interface and transmitter belt are extras. There are alternative air-resistance rowers at Argos. One is half the price at £500 and comes with a heart rate monitor interface but not a transmitter and the other is £200. Your heart rate is the best indicator of how the exercise is affecting you....
