Advantages: relaible, excellent warranty, packed with features Disadvantages: A touch expensive but worth it.
Welcome to the Logan world of fitness. Well today I?m having a look at the Horizon Elite treadmill. Now as a general rule I hate treadmills because when you can do something for free, why pay for it right? Well this is true, but there are some things you can do on a treadmill that you can?t when your out running. Logan investigates.
Ok so where to begin, well first lets have a look at the functionality of the machine in question and I?ll try to add commentary to make sense of it all for you.
Specifications:
2.5 horsepower (HP) continuous - 3 HP peak output
This is a powerful engine, but the key component here is it?s a continuous motor. This basically means that the motor will hit the speed on the dial and stay at that speed. On peak motors, the speed really vary?s an awful lot, so you think your running at 10mph ...
Advantages: Solid Feel / Price Disadvantages: Could use more hi-tech gadgets
Regarding the basics, the Horizon Ti 22 is quiet and has a solid feel. The LED monitor has a variety of settings and modes that allow me to adjust my workout.
The width of the unit is comfortable, so I don't feel as if I'm going to tip over or stumble when I walk.
The most important aspect to the entire unit is its solid feel. I weight 180 pounds, and when I run, I didn't want a machine that bounced, which will increase stress on knees. This unit provides the support I need to feel safe running even at speeds of a 7-minute mile.
The cup holder is pretty basic, and I would have rated it excellent if it had a dvd player like some of the others I looked at, but for the price, you can't go wrong.
Overall, if you're looking for solid build, reasonable price, and if you can forego some of the more expensive gadgets, this is ...
Advantages: Great grip, quiet, Disadvantages: Very expensive
If your into running, the Horizon Elite treadmill is ideal. i am into running due to my job as well as a favourite hobby, and this treadmill supports all of my needs no matter what sort of training im currently doing.
I do uphill running alot, or hill sprints as it is great for my CV fitness, this treadmill fully supports a high weight and what ever speed, so no thumping on the roller which can get pretty annoying. It is also ideal for people who just enjoy walking for their daily excersie, for example my pregnant girlfriend uses it for a gentle uphill walk everyday. The canvas is very supportive and its almost impossibe to slip whilst running, so all together the machine is very safe.
I would recommend this to anybody as its ideal for any type of walking or running, the price is high but in my opinion if your into running its worth ...
