The NEW Horizon Ti series of Treadmill is the latest offering from Horizon. Exclusive AIRcell cushioning system for ultimate support, comfort and stability! The AIRCell™ cushioning system combines Horizon''s tried and tested VCS (Variable Cushioning system) running deck; positioned at the optimum point to reduce impact stress on joints and at the same time provides ultimate support, comfort and stability. And to eliminate the typical power lag and surges that can be experienced on most treadmills, Horizon Fitness has designed the Quiet Drive™ continuous duty motor which is complemented by the elevation motor to guarantee a smooth, uninterrupted workout. The Feather Light™ Lift system, with its dual hydraulic shocks ensure that the treadmills can be lifted easily and safely to fold away when not in use, freeing up valuable space in the home. The SMARTboard™ console features a blue LCD backlit screen that displays exercise feedback at a glance. Pre-set, multi-level programmes act as a personal trainer, allowing the user to select the intensity of the workout. An added bonus is the built in, three-speed fan to keep the user cool no matter what level of workout is selected.
Advantages: Solid Feel / Price Disadvantages: Could use more hi-tech gadgets
...Regarding the basics, the HorizonTi 22 is quiet and has a solid feel. The LED monitor has a variety of settings and modes that allow me to adjust my workout.
The width of the unit is comfortable, so I don't feel as if I'm going to tip over or stumble when I walk.
The most important aspect to the entire unit is its solid feel. I weight 180 pounds, and when I run, I didn't want a machine that bounced, which will increase stress on knees. This unit provides the support I need to feel safe running even at speeds of a 7-minute mile.
The cup holder is pretty basic, and I would have rated it excellent if it had a dvd player like some of the others I looked at, but for the price, you can't go wrong.
Overall, if you're looking for solid build, reasonable price, and if you can forego some of the more expensive gadgets...

...was not lucky enough to find one in my area so I went to JJP to see what they had on offer.
There were quite a few. Some where very large and a bit too sophisticated for me. JJP were very helpful, letting me hear it running, (I didn't try it in the shop, knowing me I would have fallen off it or made a fool of myself by getting puffed out after only two minutes). I wanted the treadmill just for walking, but you can also jog on the Horizon Sonic and who knows, I might get fit enough to up my speed to jogging! Ha! Ha!
I found the treadmill very heavy at first, but it was easy to fold up and unfold and when the shop assistant showed me how to safely move it about on its wheels, the fact...

Advantages: cheap to run, healthy way to get about, environmentally healthy Disadvantages: heavy even with battery removed, not suitable for long distances
...'s not suitable for long trips unless the battery is removed.
They say that you get around 12.2 mph and I would reckon that's about right, unless you pedal.
The throttle is on the right handle bar, and this can be a bit awkward when turning right, as you tend to engage the throttle without meaning to, however I am sure that we will get used to this with time.
The bike folds fairly easily once you get used to it and can fit in the boot of a Ford Fiesta.
It comes with a lockable box on the back, at no extra expense (although they refuse to accept any responsiblilty for damage in transit - fair enough) and it also has front and rear lights and a horn. It comes in 4 colours - we've got silver which is quite nice and cedirect.co.uk deliver for free which is great
Generally speaking if you want a bike for city riding to and fro work...
