Captain Hook, are four prongs really necessary?
Review of Cottage Craft 4-Prong Tack Hook by

Advantages: Can make bridle cleaning easier.
Disadvantages: Too much hassle to hang up.
...we kid ourselves. The Cottage Craft 4 Prong Tack Hooks are actually £3.50 plus postage on equestrianclearance, so maybe it was a bargain after all.
What is it?
* * * * * * * * It is designed to make it easier to clean tack, bridles in particular. My friend used to have one and I used to use it, until she left the yard. It hangs from the ceiling and you hang the bridle from it and clean it. if you imagine, it is easier wiping a bridle with a sponge ... ...to apply more pressure and really clean the bridle properly. You can use both hands to wipe it with the sponge and likewise, rubbing in the saddle soap. It is easier than holding it with one hand and wiping it with the other. It is a good idea really. There are 4 hooks so 4 of you could clean your bridle at the same time, that would be funny. One hook would have been enough.
Why did I have to have it?

I`ve got the Jack.
Review of Cottage Craft Wooden Boot Jack by

Advantages: Stops your other foot getting muddy.
Disadvantages: It gets muddy.

Cottage Craft Wooden Boot Jack.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The Cottage Craft Wooden Boot Jack is a boot jack made by Cottage Craft and is a reasonably priced £3.99. It is a high quality wooden boot jack with rubber spot grips. It is quite lightweight (unlike my beetle one) and doesn`t take up too much room. It is about the length of 2 feet, one so that you can stand on and one a gap at the begining, that ... ...* * *
The Cottage Craft Boot Jack is fairly easy to use. It is really straithforward as explained above, but look at the photo for clarification. Once the first foot is in, pull up, you may have to wiggle it around a bit aswell, it depends on how tight your boot is. It is advisable to stand next to a wall to lean you hand on, as it can be difficult to remain in balance, especially when removing the boot on the dominant foot, with me it is the left ...

Cottage Craft Haylage Nets
Review of Cottage Craft Horsehage Net by
sweetpea_sweetpea
Advantages: Come in several colours and sizes. Very Useful.
Disadvantages: None
After my experience with the cottage craft hay bag! I decided I needed to try something else to minimise wastage which was costing me alot of money!! I have the normal sized haynets and the ones with the very large holes but I needed something a bit smaller.
After searching the internet I came across these nets which werent badly priced so I thought id give thm a try.
They come in three colours, red, green and blue and two different sizes small ... ...in each size as i thought they would be useful.
When I got them and got them out of their packaging they seemed really hardwearing and durable which is needed as they dont half get a battering by hungry horses!!
So far my horses have made less mess which is what I wanted and i have also noticed that it has slowed down their eating which is ideal for their digestion, as when a horse eats at a rate of knotts it certainly isnt good for them.
I will ...

Cottage Craft Fleece Bandages
Review of Cottage Craft Fleece Bandages by
sweetpea_sweetpea
Advantages: Cheap, many colours to choose from.
Disadvantages: Cant be too tight or too loose
My one horse is an Oldenburg and he has very fine hair and very thin skin if that makes sense! So after a few months I started to notice on his legs he was losing a bit of hair, which was a bit worrying.
After thinking about it I suddenly realised his brushing boots were starting to rub away his hair, especially when he sweated.
After going to my local saddlers I came away with a pack of 4 fleece exercise banages in the Lilac colour (he is a grey ... ...to try them on him!
As they are fleece you dont need to use the gamgee underneath them as they dont rub!
Now after using them for nearly a year his fur has grown back and his hasnt rubbed since which is great!
They are great to wash, they dont shrink if you tumble dry them and they come up looking as good as new.
However the only downside is, if you have never used bandages before or you dont put them on tight enough they can unravel and fall ...

Cottage Craft Large Sized Feed Bag
Review of Cottage Craft Feed Bag (Standard & Large by
sweetpea_sweetpea
Advantages: Minimises wastage
Disadvantages: Horses manage to pull all the hay through the hole!
...solution!
I came across the cottage craft feed bag and thought it might solve all my problems!!
It opted for the large as both my horses are over 16.2hh! and eat alot of hay and hayledge and it seemed to be ideal.
The price wasnt too bad for something which was going to be an experiment so I bought two, they only came in green which was a bit poor considering cottage craft have been going for years and yet you had a choice of one colour!
It is ... ...and they werent hard to fill which saves a bit of time as normal haynets can get knotted.
However, my horses managed to pull out their hay all in one go it seemed through the hole which was annoying and I had to keep re-filling it!
I now keep them for the horsebox as it does minimise wastage in there.
I would suggest it to somebody to use in a trailer or horsebox but for everyday use I think Im just going to stink to a small holed haynet! ...
