Throw away the saddle soap!
Review of Wintec Saddle by
catshark88
Advantages: Easy to care for
Disadvantages: Did not find any
...value.
I bought a Wintec saddle some years ago to use for breaking in youngsters.
Horses and ponies change shape according to the time of year, diet and the work that they are in. However, their greatest period of change is when they go through the starting process, when they combine physical maturing and development of first working muscle.
I bought the Wintec to use on New Forest ponies, which can be barell shaped and hard to fit at the best ... ...matures, the equileather used by Wintec just keeps looking new.
Wintecs come with an interchangeable gullet system so that you can change saddle width as necessary. This means you can ensure that you keep the saddle fitting well and make sure that your horse never becomes uncomfortable.
Comfort is important for all horses (how can they perform for you if they hurt?) but especially so for youngsters, as a bad experience at breaking can leave long ...

Great quality, you get what you pay for!
Review of Rambo Turnout by
bryjk
Advantages: Cosy, great fit, easy to fasten, lightweight
Disadvantages: Expensive
...always dreamed of owning a Rambo Wug, and saved religously to buy my first. I am not disappointed at all.
I have used my Rambo heavyweight turnout for several horses, and it fits them all superbly, from a skinny Thoroughbred to my chunky cross bred. The Rambo rug is easy to fasten, although the cross surcingles do have a type of locking elastic band on, so can only be turned one way to release them. The lack or leg straps means that I never have ... ...seen my wimpy TB through his first winter out full time. Even on snowy mornings he was cosy and content. It never slips, and so far no horse has had any rubs. I also have several of the equally brilliant Rambo stable rugs, which I cannot recommend enough. ...

Old Mac's G2 Horse boots
Review of Old Macs Multi Purpose Horse Boots by
claremash
Advantages: Easy to put on, durable, cheaper in the long run than shoes
Disadvantages: Expensive one off cost, had to order mine from Arizona so had to wait a few weeks
...pair of the new style Old macs G2 boots for my horse as he was finding it difficult having shoes on his hind feet due to arthritis (He's 31). The old style boots werent the right shape for his feet so I forked out £101 on the G2 boots direct from Easy Care Inc. in Arizona as no one in the UK did them.
The weigh just over 1lb each which is great for Pegasus' arthritis and great for me carting them around! They are easy to slip on and I dont need ... ...would advise anyone and everyone to get these especially if their horse has feet or joint problems. Just dont opt for the cheaper fake Old Macs as theyre not as good, dont last as long or fit as well. You do get better quality when you get the real thing! ...

Stick around and ease your bones
Review of Heather Moffat Seat Bone Saver by
Marisebac
Advantages: Makes all saddles comfortable for rider, improving stability and position.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive. hair and bits stick
The Heather Moffat Seat Saver is a suede covered squashy pad to cover the top part of your saddle. It is held in place by straps under the saddle and fits any saddle. The pad lies flat when put on unlike synthetic fur pads, which tend to rise up and down with the rider when new.
Available from saddlers and mail order in brown and black priced between £35 and £45.
However the quality is excellent.
I bought one several months ago to use with a cheap ... ...has a slippery seat. I have been delighted by it as is once in the saddle you are placed in the correct position and seem almost glued there. As this is used on a nervous, at times stroppy thoroughbred I have found it has boosted my morale as well as bolstering my behind.
The comfort level of this saddle went from 0-60 in the 2 minutes it took to fit and the overall appearance of this saddle was also improved. The only thing I dislike about the ...

Bioflow Magnetic Tendon Wraps
Review of Bioflow Horse Brushing Boot and Tendon Wrap by
colourmefabulous
Advantages: Increased Blood Flow
Disadvantages: A Little Expensive
...to the help team at Bioflow who answered my questions enthusiastically as i was quite skeptical about magnetic boots for a start. I wondered whether they did actually help or whether it was just an imaginary thing.
I opted to go for the wraps, as my primary time of use was going to be when the horse was in her stable through the night. The brushing boots seem to have a tough strike pad which i felt may not be as good for in the stable and i also ... ...in back and have the Bioflow brand stamped onto the velcro straps. They are fully washable and i have been told by the people at Bioflow that they come with a lifetime guarentee. They only loose a slight fraction of their magnatism over a year. This to me is a great feature as you are safe in the knowledge that they are going to last. Bioflow are so confident about their product that they actually told me that should my wraps become tatty and torn ...
