Throw away the saddle soap!
Review of Wintec Saddle by catshark88

Advantages: Easy to care for
Disadvantages: Did not find any

...value. I bought a Wintec saddle some years ago to use for breaking in youngsters. Horses and ponies change shape according to the time of year, diet and the work that they are in. However, their greatest period of change is when they go through the starting process, when they combine physical maturing and development of first working muscle. I bought the Wintec to use on New Forest ponies, which can be barell shaped and hard to fit at the best ...
...matures, the equileather used by Wintec just keeps looking new. Wintecs come with an interchangeable gullet system so that you can change saddle width as necessary. This means you can ensure that you keep the saddle fitting well and make sure that your horse never becomes uncomfortable. Comfort is important for all horses (how can they perform for you if they hurt?) but especially so for youngsters, as a bad experience at breaking can leave long ... Read review

I won one of these in a Competition once.
Review of Wintec 2000 Saddle by spottydog2

Advantages: Cheap, easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Black only.

...do. Wintec 2000. * * * * * * * * * * The Wintec 2000 is only available in black which could be a disadvantage for those with a brown bridle. It is constructed from man made materials, the seat and the knee rolls being equisuede. This offers more grip which is always good. The only disadvantage from this is that, it gets wet. It is apparently quick drying, but it still does take a little bit longer than leather, or certainly the rest of the saddle, ...
...fit. The Wintec 2000 has a lifetime guarantee on the tree. The tree is the internal frame of the saddle. I had a saddle once, quite an expensive leather one. My horse went charging through the stable door, caught the saddle and broke the tree. Where the tree broke it was on the pommel of the saddle, the bit that sits above the wither (the bit just in front of you). I called the saddler and thought how easy it would be (if not annoying and slightly ... Read review

Low Maintenance Performance
Review of Wintec Pro Dressage Saddle by catshark88

Advantages: Design, ease of care
Disadvantages: None found

...The great benefit of any Wintec is the changeable gullet system which allows you to alter your saddle width according to changes in your horse's shape. This is really useful if you have youngsters or horses that change shape a lot over the year. Old hunt stables used to have a winter and a summer saddle for each horse, so this is a really useful option. The saddle comes with a medium gullet as standard but you can buy other sizes in any saddler. ...
...well. Stitching seems good and Wintec has a good reputation for reliability. Safety ---------- The great thing about a Wintec is that even when it gets really wet, it does not get slippery and so it is easier for the rider to maintain their position and avoid being unseated. This is a great safety feature, especially for kids or those on young or more "challenging" mounts! Value -------- At the time of writing, Pros are around £400. Every horse ... Read review

Masta Deluxe Turnout Rug
Review of Masta Deluxe Turnoutmasta by sweetpea_sweetpea

Advantages: Fits well.
Disadvantages: Neck attachment sold seperately.

I dont normally use Masta rugs on my horses but after going on the net and looking in catalogues I was really impressed with this rug so I decided to buy one for my one horse who I find it difficult to fit rugs. The first this that attracted me to this rug was the high shoulder gussets which gives a bit more freedom. Once the rug was on him was great a real good fit, it wasnt too baggy or right at the front and it was really deep on him which is ...

Kieffer Salzgeber Headcollar
Review of Kieffer Salzgeber Headcollar by sweetpea_sweetpea

Advantages: Lovely soft leather.
Disadvantages: Expensive.

...for a Havana leather headcollar Kieffer do other ranges. I only use this headcollar when im competing and i dont use it for everyday use as its so expensive!! I keep it in a bridle bag, so it doesnt get damp or dusty! Quite excessive! The leather is lovely and soft but like any leather product they are quite rigid to start off with so before its first use I cleaned it and oiled it so it became a bit more supple. My horse is 17hh and the full fits ... Read review
