Advantages: Great Equipment, Very Clean Disadvantages: Relatively Expensive, Members, Unfriendly atmosphere
...This is a review for the Next Generation Health Club in Hatfield, although they are all pretty much the same.
I joined the club in July last year as I had gone into default too many times with my local "Cannons" gym so I decided to switch.
I had passed Next Generation a couple of times and it looked amazing. So I called up and I was offered a 5-day trial, which I thought was pretty generous until Will told me that it cost £19.66 which is outrageous.
But anyway I joined up and their prices are on average, about £10-15 a month more expensive than any other gym in Hertfordshire.
The quality of the equipment is fantastic, they seem to invest in new things that other gyms won't, reflex testing and a wall climber puts it slightly ahead of other local health clubs. But it is not without it's flaws. Even the more budget gyms I have...

Advantages: Excellent allignment, nice even balanced feel. Disadvantages: Not cheap, takes time to get used to.
...My overall putting ability was never too bad but somedays it can be just plain awful, i decided after much deliberation that i needed a better tool for the job, i was fed up of missing short putts for par and walking away feeling like i could have done better, so i went out and spent £50 for a 2nd hand Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter - im glad i did, mostly.
First of all i would like to say that to improve at any sport theres nothing like practice, then more practice, this is especially true for golf, and none more so than the art of putting, after all its on the putting green where you play most of your shots (an average score of 90 would usually entail 35-40 putts, you use the putter more than any other club in your bag),
The Odyssey 2 ball white hot putter is no gimme, you wont pick it up and start to hole everything on sight...

Advantages: Fore front in putters Disadvantages: quite expensive
...it straight when coming in contact with the ball, if you catch the ground slightly it can wabble and often this effects the ball strike so in effect you hit the ball skewwiff!
Now the White Hot is a special putter, as all Odyssey putters they are well balanced, so if you imagine a pendullam it sways back and forth in a perfect line, this is what the rossie does. Other Odyssey putters have imaginary white balls behind the face so gives you a better line to look at. The Rossie does not have these white balls to help you instead you have 2 lines that give you a look at the line you are aiming for, once the ball is in front of the face you have around a 5 inch 'line' to give you a guide to where you are aiming the ball. The feel is great in the past ive often hit the ball some 2 feet short on occasions due to the 'feel', the odyssey is easy to use...

I do not do a lot of shopping in Next, and even less so normally for fragrances and the like. I am I suppose a bit old fashioned when it comes to cosmetics and men, but I am slowly coming into line with the naughties. I tend to buy the more established... more
