Advantages: tasteful, quick, healthy, great texture Disadvantages: a little pricey
I find Weight Watchers freezer meals to be quite appetising, and fancied trying the Salmon and Broccoli Wedge Melt after enjoying salmon sandwiches for the first time and taking quite a liking to the taste. Noticing that Asda had a deal on, with any '2 for £3' on their Weight Watchers meals, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
You can either microwave your meal, or pop it into the oven. Usually I'd oven-cook, but I simply didn't have the time. I peeled back the clear film and popped it into the microwave for the suggested 9 minutes. The meal had only been in for no more than four minutes when the delicious cheese aroma filled my kitchen. When I retrieved it from the microwave after it had cooked, the smell was so powerful, incredibly appetising.

We live on frozen food in my house as neither my husband nor I are great cooks. But, whether or not you eat a lot of frozen food, Iceland's Southern Fried Wedges should be a constant in your freezer as they are in mine. cooking. I was hungry so chose the microwave which is 9 minutes on full power for a 750 watt oven or 8 for 850 watt plus a minute standing time for both types. Conventional is 45 minutes at Gas 6 or 200 C and stand for 1 minute. Personally I could have made something similar from scratch quicker!

The main ingredient is savoury sauce, there is 14% of both broccoli and salmon and 28% fried potato wedges. The mozzarella cheese doesn?t have an amount. There are no artificial flavours or colours, although both are used. It is not suitable for people who are on a gluten free diet, and it clearly states it contains gluten, wheat, milk, fish and sulphur dioxide. I noted that it contains 1.5g of an adult?s recommended daily salt intake of 6g.
