Advantages: Lightweight, easy to tow, retain value, smart. Disadvantages: No handle on inside of jocky door.
any that were much cheaper, one thing that I have noticed and been told by others are that the IforWilliams trailers hold there value and are easy to sell on. IforWilliams sells several different trailers but my choice was between the 505 and the 510, the dealer had one of each. My horses are 15.2hh and 16.2hh (when I bought the trailer he was 16.1hh). The 505 takes 2 horses up to 16.2hh and the 510 takes two over 16.2hh. The dealer advised me that the 505 would be suitable. After taking 2 friends with me and agreeing a deal that delivery would be included in the price, I made the purchase.
For those who have passed their driving test after early1997, it is necessary to take a trailer test before being allowed to tow a trailer. Whilst I had passed my test before then I still thought that I had better have some tuition. I asked ...
I bought a new Iforwilliams p8e livestock trailer (Oct 2008) and on collection I discovered that it had no hitch lock. They did provide a free key ring - pity there were no keys included.
I wrote to IforWilliams and they eventually sent a very poor excuse for a lock which actually does not fit the hitch. It looks to me like they never thought about providing a hitch with a built in lock? A bit suprising as they know just like everyone else how vunerable they are to being stolen. They lock they sent me is like something out of a Christmas cracker and should stick out of the side of the hitch with nothing much sticking in to lock it. Consiquently it could be struck off easily by half a house brick or anything else lying around.
How can I take the trailer out and park it up with a reasonable degree of confidence that it wont be ...
Advantages: turn up in style! Disadvantages: check it's been made properly!!!
We bought a brand new IforWilliams Hunter trailer to carry my two large competition horses and thought i had made a really good investment! My 17.2 fitted in lovelly and it towed to its first competition a dream.
When we got there, it turned out to be a nighmare!
On parking up and jumping in through the jockey door, I was horrified to be greeted by a stream of blood running like a river to the front of the trailer and see my young mare standing trapped against the side as the partition has slid across and wedged her just below her fetlocks. It was amazing that she had not freaked out and made matters worse. On summoning some help we managed to lift the partition back off of her and replace it and lead her out to seek vetinary attention.
12 stiches later (and a nice sized vets bill) we were ready to roll, but how was I going to get ...
