We bought a brand new Ifor Williams Hunter trailer to carry my two large competition horses and thought i had made a really good investment! My 17.2 fitted in lovelly and it towed to its first competition a dream. When we got there, it turned out to be a nighmare! On parking up and jumping in through the jockey door, I was horrified to be greeted by a stream of blood running like a river to the front of the trailer and see my young mare standing trapped against the side as the partition has slid across and wedged her just below her fetlocks. It was amazing that she had not freaked out and made matters worse. On summoning some help we managed to lift the partition back off of her and replace it and lead her out to seek vetinary attention. 12 stiches later (and a nice sized vets bill) we were ready to roll, but how was I going to get her home? I couldn't use the NEW trailer incase it happened again....more expense, hired transport. We phoned Ifor Williams and the trailer was returned to the dealership where they informed me that the centre partition had been hung upside down when it was made, hence it had dropped off of the pegs and hurt my mare. When I asked how this could have been done AND passed quality control/safety checking I was told that it was "just one of those things" as the chap shrugged at me. I explained what had happened and was offered no compensation nor guarantee that it would not happen again. I was refused a refund for the return of the trailer, even when I stated that it was technically faulty and was basically told to clear off! I had no choice but to take it home and try to sell it privately to regain some of my wasted money, meanwhile i had to buy a lorry because my mare would point blank refuse to go into a trailer again-not that I blame her.
All in all, I would never agin part with my money as far as Ifor Williams are concerned and would never trust them with the safety of my horses again.

This sounds awful! I know this was a while ago now, but I'd have stuck by my guns and got some advice from trading standards if they failed to both compensate for loss and give full refund!!
