I purchased an INFINTI gravity walker plus after seeing umpteen demonstrations of the product on a t.v shopping channel.At the time of purchase I was almost three stone overweight and lacked motivation. I thought that it looked easy to use and I would lose weight effortlessly.
Its biggest selling point was its foldability and manouvreability.The demonstrators would say "just fold it flat and roll it away!"....slide it under the bed or put it up against the wall. I have very limited space in my home so I was pleased that I would be able to store it under the bed.
I ordered it, and it arrived in a very large flat rectangular box which was extremely heavy.....it needed two people to take up the stairs. It was 95% assembled and the instructions on how to attach the handles, the footplates and on-board computer(monitoring number of strides, time spent, calories burned, steps per minute) were very clear and easy to follow....it took me around 10 minutes to assemble.
I began to use it straight away...and although it is recommended that you hold on to the main handrail in order to find your balance.....I found that I just got on and held the handles and "hey presto".
It folded flat very easily....though very heavy, and safer, I feel if folded and put away by two people.
It has small castors on the base to ease manouvreability, but as I have limited space and pieces of furniture in my home, it sometimes needs to be moved sideways to prevent it from bashing into things! There is NO WAY that it would slide under any bed as the handle juts out too far, also if you were not planning to use it in a bedroom, I feel it would be far to difficult to move from room to room especially if you have narrow corridors. Luckily I had just enough wall space in my living room to prop it up against ....otherwise I would have had to send it back.
The exercise itself is very easy...in fact it doesn't feel as though you are getting any benefit from it...You need at least 30 minutes per session to make it worthwhile. It is better used whilst watching television or listening to music as it can get a little tedious. In my experience I think that this is an ideal back-up exercise machine....i don't think that the use of a gravity walker alone will do much to help weight loss....it is simply not vigorous enough an exercise.
I think it would be perfect exercise for people who are slightly unfit or older.....provided there is someone else to set it up for them and put it away again!
I eventually did lose weight but I feel that i have to attribute that to a change of diet and a lot of cycling. My INFINITI gravity walker I believe HAS helped me to maintain my good figure and stamina....I am certainly glad that I bought it.
