Heelys - freedom is a wheel in your sole
Advantages: fun, something different, comfortable Disadvantages: a bit pricey, takes practice
Heelys are the trainers with the wheel in the heel which were invented by a (now very rich) man called Roger Adams They have been popular in America for a few years and they even have Heelys pro teams as a lot of the skateboarders have got into it. Heelys only really became popular in the UK at the end of last year and everywhere you go it now seems there are kids flying around on them. However its not just kids who buy them, trust me, i work in ... ...and also to turn the Heelys into normal trainers but you can walk in Heelys in between skating with the wheels left in in a similar way you would walk in heeled shoes with the weight on the front of the shoe. With the single wheeled versions of Heelys you get a plug which will fit into the gap left by the wheel and you also get a tool to remove the plug, however Heelys do not currently make plugs to fit the two wheeled verion of Heelys but the wheels ...

Roces,The 5th Element A great buy
Advantages: very good for soles Disadvantages: too heavy for skating vert
Roces "5th elements" area great pair of inline skates. I paid £300 for my pair, now you may think that is quite expensive, but really that's not a lot as inline skates no cost a lot of money. This pair of skates has lasted me from September 1998 to today! They are very agressive skates and it is very easy to do tricks on poles and curbs. I find a topside X grind very easy on theses skates as they have a lot of sole room. However, there is one catch ... ...skate on ramps as they are quite heavy, so if you are in to vert skating these are not for you!
I have come to the conclusion that these are very good skates and are well worth the money you spend on them. I would buy another pair and reccomend them to anybody who is into aggressive inline skating. ...

STInternational Pro Skate: Great skates
Advantages: Affordable, Comfortable, and fast grinds. Disadvantages: I can't think of any.
...the Genesis 2 frames and Salomon Wide Bodies. However, you do not need the wide bodies, the skate has a decent soul area, but the wide bodies make it better (my opinion). I heard the frames it comes with are ok, but they break easily, so I would recommend getting an upgraded set. I also read that somebody said, these skates felt like you were strapped to 2 pillows that were gliding down rails, and this is very true. The liners are very very comfortable. ... ...slipped on another sock. The boot molded right to my foot and made for a very comfortable ride. After I put my skates together, I went outside to skate for a little while. Right away, I could do a Royale, and comfortably too. I had not been able to do one before because my ST1s have terrible soul areas, and right away with these skates, a perfect Royale. The skates were broken in within 20 minutes and I was doing everything I could with my old skates ...

Not as good as they say
Advantages: comfty, runs smooth, soul very slippery (excelent if you're good at it). Disadvantages: fragile at the base (they broke), cheap alum spacers.
...with the rivet and the K2 logo). K2 speaks of the resistance of their skates and they broke with just a tiny little gap I jumped off... they are practically new! justa couple of months!
I'm in Mexico, so it makes very difficult the warranty to be effective and due that it was a gift from an uncle that brought them from US, its a lotta issues, so I had to repair them myself.
Honestly I didn't like them.
I prefer my old Sal's. ...

Hardwearing UFS skate
Advantages: UFS, long lasting, cheap. Disadvantages: ?
The Salomon st10 is one of the new range of UFS (Universal Frame System) skates released by Salomon just before Christmas 2001. The st10 is the budget skate which they say as aimed at beginner to intermediate skaters and they cost £140.
Looking at the skate there don't seem to be many differences between these and the previously released Feinburgs other than the colours and the wheel set-up. The skates come with a nice looking blue cuff and liner, ... ...salomon liner is one of the most comfortable and long lasting liners around. The liner features coolfit so once you've worn them a few times the mold to the shape of your feet making them much more comfortable.
The wheel set-up features a nice fast rolling set-up of salomons own ST 56mm/88a wheels with a nice set of ABEC 3 bearings.
The UFS system on these skates allows you upgrade you frames to UFS frames from other manufacturers so you can improve ...
