STInternational Pro Skate: Great skates
Review of Salomon STi Team by
SaloSkater123
Advantages: Affordable, Comfortable, and fast grinds.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any.
...the Genesis 2 frames and Salomon Wide Bodies. However, you do not need the wide bodies, the skate has a decent soul area, but the wide bodies make it better (my opinion). I heard the frames it comes with are ok, but they break easily, so I would recommend getting an upgraded set. I also read that somebody said, these skates felt like you were strapped to 2 pillows that were gliding down rails, and this is very true. The liners are very very comfortable. ... ...slipped on another sock. The boot molded right to my foot and made for a very comfortable ride. After I put my skates together, I went outside to skate for a little while. Right away, I could do a Royale, and comfortably too. I had not been able to do one before because my ST1s have terrible soul areas, and right away with these skates, a perfect Royale. The skates were broken in within 20 minutes and I was doing everything I could with my old skates ...

Salomon ST80 limited edition
Review of Salomon ST80 by
duncbarton
Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance.
Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).
Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. Last summer Salomon decided to sell off all of there sample models of the ST80 so now these samples are available.
Since these are sample skates they were only ever made in one size (uk 8.5) so if this size is too large or too small for you then ... ...on any of the recent Salomon skates. This is highlighted by the white frame which gives the skates a very clean, stylish appearance.
These skates come fully equipped with Salomon ABEC 5 bearings and Medium Matt Andrews wheels (57mm 90A) so you can skate them straight away without having to replace anything. The bearings are reasonably fast and smooth as are the wheels, neither of which were especially great but did the job nicely.
As soon as ...

Hardwearing UFS skate
Review of Salomon st10 by
aikon
Advantages: UFS, long lasting, cheap.
Disadvantages: ?
The Salomon st10 is one of the new range of UFS (Universal Frame System) skates released by Salomon just before Christmas 2001. The st10 is the budget skate which they say as aimed at beginner to intermediate skaters and they cost £140.
Looking at the skate there don't seem to be many differences between these and the previously released Feinburgs other than the colours and the wheel set-up. The skates come with a nice looking blue cuff and liner, ... ...salomon liner is one of the most comfortable and long lasting liners around. The liner features coolfit so once you've worn them a few times the mold to the shape of your feet making them much more comfortable.
The wheel set-up features a nice fast rolling set-up of salomons own ST 56mm/88a wheels with a nice set of ABEC 3 bearings.
The UFS system on these skates allows you upgrade you frames to UFS frames from other manufacturers so you can improve ...

ride like aaron...
Review of Salomon Feinburg by
screnner
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: wheels a tad shonky
okay the Salomon Feinberg pro-model.
Well i guess if your reading this then you know who the hell aaron feinberg is huh? well like him or not, hes got a pro-skate. If you are at all familiar with the previous model of salomon agressive skates then you will know that not much has changed appearance-wise with these new beauties. Keeping with the individual boot mould, they have chosen to beef up the specifications of the skate instead. So here is ... ...This is a move by salomon to forge the way forward with frane standardisation, making the frane marjet more competitive, resulting in more compatibility therefore better prices for consumers.
On the grind the soul was impressively fast, having had a pair of K2 250's on my feet about 3 minutes earlier i would even venture far enough tp say they equalled the speed of the K2's, and on some variations (alley-oop soul in particular) they felt faster. ...

Heelys - freedom is a wheel in your sole
Review of Heelys Inline Skates by
milburn987
Advantages: fun, something different, comfortable
Disadvantages: a bit pricey, takes practice
Heelys are the trainers with the wheel in the heel which were invented by a (now very rich) man called Roger Adams They have been popular in America for a few years and they even have Heelys pro teams as a lot of the skateboarders have got into it. Heelys only really became popular in the UK at the end of last year and everywhere you go it now seems there are kids flying around on them. However its not just kids who buy them, trust me, i work in ... ...and also to turn the Heelys into normal trainers but you can walk in Heelys in between skating with the wheels left in in a similar way you would walk in heeled shoes with the weight on the front of the shoe. With the single wheeled versions of Heelys you get a plug which will fit into the gap left by the wheel and you also get a tool to remove the plug, however Heelys do not currently make plugs to fit the two wheeled verion of Heelys but the wheels ...
