I got these when other pair of show breeches gave up the ghost, and I couldn't be bothered to repair them anymore!
Just Toggs Grand Prix breeches are fantastic. They have a Clarino leather full seat, and are fully machine washable! Hurrah! AND they were not too pricey! RRP £60. Last Christmas mine were approximately £57.99, so look around and find the best price! I've got a few Just Toggs items and there products are pretty good, middle of the road price ranges.
They are 80% cotton, 12% spandex and 8% lycra. (The bits without the leather on that is). They come in 5 different colours, White- the ones I have, fawn- the ones in the product picture, Cranberry, Blue and Black. I'm not certain if they have discontinued the Cranberry, but I couldn't find them last time I checked!
What attracted me to them was a multifactoral choice- They were very good value for a leather seat- £57! Very good value They have a full leather seat- which stopped at the boot tops- very elegant. They have a high waist band which naturally improves and supports the lower back and zips you in. Again an elegant look with just a show shirt in the summer and keeps the shirt in and away from the edges of the Jacket. It keeps you all tucked in. There is alittle zip pocket on the front- I usually keep my stock pin in there so i dont forget it and can put small things like safety pins or rings in there or a tissue!
Sizes come in inches 24-34 ladies sizing 24= UK size 8 26= UK size 10 28= UK size 12 30= UK size 14 etc... They do come in regular and long depending on your inside leg measurements.
They perform very well in the saddle, very comfy and when jumping add friction to the saddle to help keep you in place. Same for flat work and dressage keeps you in the saddle.
They wash very well at 40 degrees on a normal wash, but if they are soiled more than lightly, ie you fell off in a sand school(Like i did at a competition last jump- I jumped it before the horse!!!)- they will need a pre wash with a stain remover, and a hot wash. It says only wash at 40 degrees, but when you need sparkling white breeches then I washed on a hot white wash. They were fine and didn't shrink at all.
What I must say, is that they flatter most people, I am a 10-12 UK dress size, but I'm still a bit paranoid about that ol' derriere, they do give you a rather nice bottom! As commented on by my boyfriend, and a collegue of mine is a slightly larger lady of UK size 14- 16 who looks fabulous in hers!
I also have them in Blue because I love them so much!! They are great to train in as you get the feeling before you wear for competitions or shows!
