K2 Recon riser
Review of K2 Recon Riser by
mamboitaliano90
Advantages: Great design and build quality damping!
Disadvantages: non that l have found yet!
...Currently l am working with K2 on my uni dissertaion investigatingthe damping of snowboards and they kindly gave me one of these babies to test.
Firstly l can say the from my testing there is definately evidence to back up the damping claims this is in the higher frequecny ranges which are to do with muscle fatigue, there is a really nice feel about the baord when you are riding it there is a nice degree of side-cut and this make it prefect for carving down the mountin.
there are risers on the top to enable riders with large feet to use a narrower board and aviod heel or toe drag on the surface oft he snow.
due tot he size of the board l found it very stable at pace and not at all twitchy....

The Peak of Fitness
Review of Peak Fitness, Gloucester by
little_minx26
Advantages: Good classes, excellent customer service
Disadvantages: No pool
...I joined Peak Fitness after my not-so-brilliant experiences with the Gloucester Esporta (see other op). Peak Fitness is about 5 minutes from our new house, and had been reccomended to me by several people at work. So, shortly after Christmas I decided i'd better wear off all that turkey and mince pies and join the gym.
**Who are they**
Peak Fitness is a chain club, but a lot smaller than the likes of Esporta and Fitness First. They have gyms in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Docklands, Palmers Green, Woking, Worcester, Whitley Bay, Tonbridge & 2 in Newcastle. They are also known as Arena in Northern Ireland. You can use any of these gyms as a member for no extra cost.
**Facilities**
The Gloucester club is situated on the outskirts of the city, in a large open shopping area. There is plenty of parking, even when it's sale time...

When the going is tough, the Peak keeps going
Review of Coleman Peak 1 Petrol Camping Stove by
sit2020
Advantages: Great in extreme weather
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly
...Cooking outdoors can be more challenging than at first thought. I still remember thinking the only things that made a difference to cooking outdoors was if it was raining or if it was very windy, other than that I thought outdoor cooking is outdoor cooking.
I guess that comes from my barbecue cooking days, those wonderful summers days that deteriorate the moment the charcoal is lit. Anyway this is a review about the Coleman Peak One Stove.
Why use this instead of other cooking stoves?
Well it boils water faster than any other stove I have ever used, see more about that further in the review.
When it comes to low temperatures (cold weather and late at night) it still performs well, other stoves can become slower and therefore cook slower.
When it comes to high altitudes (high up hills or even mountains) it still out performs any...
