K2 Super Pipe

Advantages: Very strong, light, comfortable and parts are easily replaced
Disadvantages: anti bacterial footbed could be improved and wheels should be of a better standard

...Well, since i got these skates in January, I have improved no end. I did have a pair of Oxygens and since trying the K2's I have realised how good they really are, although the soul space is not as wide as some of my friends skates i.e Salomons the lock on is excellent and grinding is super smooth. The skates feel very stable and strong yet relatively light. They are very comfortable due to the 'soft boot' technology and upgrades are relatively cheap. These skates can live indefinately with all parts being replaceable. The downside is that for a pro - skate I would have expected more from the wheels, as I would have preferred better ones for example 'Senate' also the anti - bacterial footbed is not particularly effective after several months of use (but that might just be my feet!) ...I think my board is the 2005 clash so the graphics on it might be slightly different to the 2007 one but i have to say, the graphics on my board look awesome. This board is top of the line for good price. It handles turns brilliantly for a beginner board and even if you have not snowboarded before, this board makes you feel amazing. The Biax fiberglass in the board allow easy turns that allow the board to rotate just the smallest amount for awesome turn initiation. Its tapered shape also allow for easy turns and carving through the snow. It has an even core profile that allows great control on powder and icy snow. For the freestyler in you, Burton has put in a Super Fly core which allows great air stability. If your looking for a good all around board for a good price, go for the clash! Advantages: Great design and build quality damping!
Disadvantages: non that l have found yet!

...Currently l am working with K2 on my uni dissertaion investigatingthe damping of snowboards and they kindly gave me one of these babies to test. Firstly l can say the from my testing there is definately evidence to back up the damping claims this is in the higher frequecny ranges which are to do with muscle fatigue, there is a really nice feel about the baord when you are riding it there is a nice degree of side-cut and this make it prefect for carving down the mountin. there are risers on the top to enable riders with large feet to use a narrower board and aviod heel or toe drag on the surface oft he snow. due tot he size of the board l found it very stable at pace and not at all twitchy....
