Apple mac-books, where to start...
ok, so to start,
it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are.
this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop.

the choices below; they're all open source/freeware. My budget for toys is dry following the arrival of the MacBook, so it's cheapies or freebies for me for a while.

I opted for the 4 Gigs on the advice of a friend, who has the 2 Gigs version and told me the upgrade would be better for running games in windows (which I'll come to later). He assures me, and I can back him up having used his from time to time, that the standard memory is enough to run all the main programs very smoothly. Personally I only chose the upgrade for gaming reasons, so I would recommend the basic for anyone who wants to do anything at all besides running large games.
*Hard drive space of 160 GB for standard ...
