Karrimor Snow Boots

I like to do a lot of country side walking especially living on the Isle of Wight as there are tons of wonderful walks to do but my footwear was leaving a lot to be desired and my lovely white trainers we getting stained either brown from the mud or yellow from the sand which I had had enough of. This was the reason last November I took myself to Sports Direct to buy myself some nice walking shoes.

I came away with these Snow Boots from Karrimor. I head heard of the make before so knew I was buying something from a good brand but I was a little apprehensive that I had bought a boot far too big and too chunky for my needs. I worried more so when both Himself and my mother laughed at me for buying Snow Boots instead of walking shoes or boots.

However they were laughing on the other sides of their smug faces when the snow fell and everyone was slipping around in less than adequate footwear but I was trudging for miles in my fabulous Snow Boots which were clearly ideal for this weather condition and it was as if I knew the weather was going to be snowy!

The boots have already had their monies worth as at Ł19.99 pence they were cheaper than some of the smaller proper walking shows I looked at but appeared much more sturdy. The grey and black colour tones of the boots look particularly good and don’t stand out too much or look too garish. The fact that the boots are fur lined made them extra warm through those cold snow days and kept my feet dry, snug and utterly comfortable.

The contrast between the fur lining inside the boots to the hard wearing touch material which makes up the outer part of the boot couldn’t be more different but works so utterly well. The boots are totally waterproof and have taken a fair bit of bettering but still look pretty much as good as new. The soles on the shoes are made from a very thick and tough rubber which hasn’t seemed to wear down even with all the walking and sliding on snow and ice I have done in them.

The laces are made of strong stuff too and the eyelet holes and hook type fastenings that hold the laces in place you can tell are made of good stuff and hold everything in place and work just as they are meant to.

Even after the snow melted and the ice drained away I was able to use the boots as I initially intended and that was to wear them on long country or beach walks and this they have done with utter comfort and ease. They have kept me clean and dry and not a blister has been in sight since the day I began to wear them. They are both practical and comfortable at the same time whilst not looking like a old ladies walking boot. I do feel however that they wouldn’t be suitable for everyone although my sister in law saw them and had to order herself a pair from the Sports Direct website but when mum tried them on she did look a little silly as the boots were far too chunky for her and her 58 years to get away with.

Of course with this warmer weather I won’t be wearing the boots at all but come the winter I know that I have a brilliant pair of shoes waiting to walk some miles! They will probably last me many years to come as they are made to such a high standard and look as good as mew now that I couldn’t imagine having any problems or much in the way of wearing on them.

Overall, I have to say that these Boots were such a good buy. I definitely bought them at the right time so have used them for their true snow purpose but they are still a great pair of walking boots too. They don’t look too bad for walking; they are comfortable, warm and waterproof! What else could you need from a pair of boots such as this!

I have to awarded a brilliant score of 5 out of 5 stars and an exceptionally high recommendation!

Many thanks for taking the time to read.

I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you.

I have a pair of these, they're great. I use them loads in the UK, not just for in snowy weather, as the ankle support is great on hikes :) Well reviewed.
