Advantages: Comfortable, quick to break in Disadvantages: not waterproof, not breathable
...I work in a outdoor shop but I'm not a very outdoorsy person, I'm really fussy when it comes to footwear, and wouldn't really wear walking shoes or boots unless I really have to, Climbing a mountain for example. That was untill the Salomon expert lows came in delivery one day, walking shoes are normally bulky looking and not at all attractive but these are really nice, my ones are light grey, dark grey and black, they have mesh panels and suede panels with a rubber rand around the toe.
The mesh panels are for breathabilitly, but they don't have a breathable or wickable lining, so my feet do get quite hot but a pair of wicking socks like coolmax normally sort that out, the downside of the mesh is that if it rains the water gets in easy as they don't have a waterproof lining, spraying them will make them resistant to water but stepping...

Advantages: Lighwreight well made rucksack Disadvantages: There are to many straps
...I recently needed a new backpack because my old one was rather worn and large for my purposes. So of to good old ebay I go, on the hunt for a new one. Firstly I looked at the some of the sports bags like Adidas, Reebok and Nike. None of these however fitted my personal criteria. I was looking for something that would fit comfortably on my shoulders whilst on my bike. It needed to be practical, lightweight, with lots of compartments for my bits and pieces. So I have a look through the camping section on ebay and soon found the bag I was looking for, the Karrimor Vault 20.
The bag itself is black and grey and has the Karrimor logo neatly stitched on the front, this looks like a union jack at first but on closer examination turns out to be two "K's" back to back in inverted colours one side being silver/black and the other black...

Advantages: Comfort, value for money, weight Disadvantages: difficult to clean
...I have owned a pair of karrimor ksb walking boots for about 4 years now. Mine are a sandy colour and will no doubt have been superceded by a new model! They are very minimalist in their design and not at all flashy, which I like. I use them maybe 6 or 7 times a year and they are still holding up well.
I use them for hill walking in the spring to autumn in Scotland. As they are fabric boots you might expect them to let water in however I have never had any problems with this. I don't tent to go walking in extreme conditions, but them I have set out on glorious summer days and been caught out by thunder storms. My feet have always stayed dry, even when splashing through puddles.
I find these boots quite narrow, which suits my feet, but this may not be suitable for all. They are very cushioned on the inside, even 4 years...
