Full review
I recently needed a new backpack because my old one was rather worn and large for my purposes. So of to good old ebay I go, on the hunt for a new one. Firstly I looked at the some of the sports bags like Adidas, Reebok and Nike. None of these however fitted my personal criteria. I was looking for something that would fit comfortably on my shoulders whilst on my bike. It needed to be practical, lightweight, with lots of compartments for my bits and pieces. So I have a look through the camping section on ebay and soon found the bag I was looking for, the Karrimor Vault 20.

The bag itself is black and grey and has the Karrimor logo neatly stitched on the front, this looks like a union jack at first but on closer examination turns out to be two "K's" back to back in inverted colours one side being silver/black and the other black/silver. Under the logo it says vault in silver with the number 20 under that with silver circle around it. It is also available in pink and silver if you prefer a more feminine colour.

On either side of the bag there are two mesh compartments which are elasticated at the top. This helps to ensure that nothing falls out. I use these compartments to put my water bottles in when I'm on my cycle, because I have no cage to put my bottle in on my frame, so I find these very useful.

There is also a drawstring on the front which I use to put my jacket in when I get to hot whilst cycling.

Concealed behind the drawstrings is a zip compartment that is rather long and quite spacious. I use this to put my pump in and store any old sweet wrappers that I consume.

The main compartment of the bag can hold up to 20 litres just the right size to fit in an average size lunch box and a flask with plenty of space left over for other bits and pieces. There is also a compartment inside this that is ideal for putting paperwork into because the rucksack has a hard back and will help keep the paper uncrumpled. Located at the top inside the bag is a key or wallet hook.

The back of the rucksack is very well padded and has padded shoulder straps that are easily adjusted to fit your body frame.

As well as all this it has adjustable chest straps, waist straps and side compression straps. I have taken the chest straps off but have left the waist straps on. I do occasionally use the waist straps and have found that I can wear the rucksack without having to use the straps. The side compression straps help to balance the load somehow. But it is not a feature that I find beneficial to my use.

There is also a haul loop at the top of the bag, this can be used to carry the rucksack or hang it up on a hook.

It is made from a strong non-rip material, so hopefully it will last a lot longer than my old bag and the stitching is spot on with no loose ends to be seen. The zips are metal and have a small piece of cord looped through so you can zip it up and down easily.

These rucksacks are quite expensive with a retail price of £39.99, but I bought mine off ebay for just £15 including postage, which in my books makes this a bargain
There is one downside that I have found and that is all the straps that are attached make the bag look scruffy. But that's not much of a problem just simply remove them.

I think this bag is great it's lightweight and very comfortable and has enough space inside for my purposes.
