Advantages: Warm, designed specifically with children in mind, extendable Disadvantages: The toggles get in the way!
...compact or water resistant or machine washable. The same rules apply for choosing children’s sleepingbags as they would to adults, probably even more so as kids tend to feel the cold easily.
Then you can consider the different styles of bag. The basic bag is a rectangular shape; it has a wide opening at the top and usually a zip on 2 sides. Sometimes you can buy one bag with a left hand zip and one with a right hand zip so that they can join together and make one larger bag. These types of sleepingbag might be good for youth hostels, summer camping use or caravanning. Another type of bag is the tapered sleepingbag. This has a narrower bottom than top and is generally considered slightly warmer than a rectangle because your legs and feet fit more snugly. Advantages: Massive tent, bags of room, easily packed away, doesn't take up much room in the car Disadvantages: Freezing in winter time, obviously
...This is an excellent family tent that sleeps 4-5 people, maybe even 4 adults with a couple of kids. Very simple to erect and to dissasemble and pack away. It doesn't take up much room in the car which is a bonus. Light, airy, bags of room, and is much more convienient than a trailer tent ot caravan as you can just pack some supplies and throw it in the boot. Don't forget a nice thermal sleepingbag if you are camping outside the summer months. If you are going camping to Scotland in the summer months you may wish to pack the thermal sleepingbag just incase. If you are planing a visit to Scotland try Blair Atholl Caravan Park near Pilochry in Perthshire, we have been visiting it for over 15 years and it is a nice quiet and relaxing site....

Ive only used this bag a few times, in the scotish highlands and in the north of wales whilst climbing in winter. Although i did sacrafice precious space and weight by opting for this bag, it did provide superb comfort and heat which was a well earned luxury after a hard day climbing.
This bag was pretty cheap considering the product in hand. It was £90 from my local 'Outdoors' camping shop, and considering it gives better properties than some £200 downbags, i take it as quite a bargin.
My bag came in some strange green colour which i think looks pretty ok compared to some sleepingbag colours. It came with an excellent compression sack which reduces the size of the bag by about 1/3 (shame it doesnt do the same for the weight.)
At around 2.5 kg it is slightly heavy for a sleepingbag, considering my...

Julie Highmore has been relatively unknown to me until recently when I read the most enjoyable book called Pure Fiction. With this in mind I set off to the H section in the local library and was delighted to find this one snuggling on more
