Advantages: Warm, light, confortable Disadvantages: No shoulder/neck baffle, zip can snag at times.
...The Piute (also availble; woman\'s Piute) is a warm and cozy sleepingbag. Its price is a reflection of its quality and appears reasonable compared to other bags of similar specifictions. Its lightweight design is very useful for back packing or anytime that space is at a premium. It comes with a small stuff sack that it fits into neatly, although could be compressed further (not recomended for down bags, especially not for longer periods of time).
The hood offers superb protection from the cold although it could possibly benefit from a second draw string baffle around the neck.shoulders area. However the drawstring around the top of the hood to enclose around the face is confortable and good at keeping the heat in whist allowing freedom of movement.
When using this bag i (very) occasionally have a little trouble with the zip...

Advantages: Converts from small to large as your child grows! Disadvantages: It can't make the sun shine when you're camping!!
...Ideal for camping with small children - the bottom zips off and a circular piece zips on to create a proper \'foot\' for small children and as they grow you can zip the bottom section back on. Whilst the bottom is zipped off, you can use it to store the rest of the sleepingbag in, although there is a separate stuff (compression) sack as well. There is a left and a right hand zip so it\'s easy to get your child in and out of the sleepingbag. The hood is elasticated with no dangerous strings or toggles and the inner is a snuggly cotton to keep your child cosy all night long. It comes in blue or in pink - we\'re delighted with it as it fills the gap nicely between baby and adult sleepingbags....

Advantages: Warm, designed specifically with children in mind, extendable Disadvantages: The toggles get in the way!
...compact or water resistant or machine washable. The same rules apply for choosing children’s sleepingbags as they would to adults, probably even more so as kids tend to feel the cold easily.
Then you can consider the different styles of bag. The basic bag is a rectangular shape; it has a wide opening at the top and usually a zip on 2 sides. Sometimes you can buy one bag with a left hand zip and one with a right hand zip so that they can join together and make one larger bag. These types of sleepingbag might be good for youth hostels, summer camping use or caravanning. Another type of bag is the tapered sleepingbag. This has a narrower bottom than top and is generally considered slightly warmer than a rectangle because your legs and feet fit more snugly. It might have one or two extra features like a baffle to stop draughts getting...
