Kenda Kwick Roller Holiday Features: The Holiday is comfortable, safe and secure on road, tow path or bridle way Kenda has developed some of the most advanced rubber compounds in the cycling world. Rubber compounds are designed with rolling resistance, grip, durability and puncture resistance in mind. For use both front and rear
Advantages: Reasonable good grip Disadvantages: Weight
...I used this on the rear of my mountain bike a few years ago. Not the greatest, grip is ok however as is puncture resistance.
Very heavy tyre however, and the rolling resistance is high, giving a tyre that feels slow and heavy to get going - and slugish to climb.
On singletrack it is limited by this too, though the performance does pick up when it is going downhill.
Problem is that unless you have an uplift, you are so worn out by dragging the extra weight around the ride that you can't apprciate it on the downhill bits!
To be honest, there are far better tyres out there, which are lighter AND grippier. Kendas & Contis would fit into this catagory....

Advantages: Great Value, great suspension, good alround bike Disadvantages: Slightly weighty, not much else!
...is spot-on - It has got me out of a number of situations where on my old MTB I would have stacked it.
Drivetrain has been a little bit hit and miss - in particular the rear mech, but a new rear mech cable has sorted the problem out (one of the teflon coated inners), and the rest of it I can't fault.
The one draw back it has is that it is slightly on the heavy side, particularly noticible on long fire-road climbs, but to be honest, for £1000 you expect something that can be improved. I've set about this and have just purchased a new XT rear mech and Cassette - hopefully XT hollowtech II chainset/BB will follow, which will help greatly in this regard, as have the Kenda kevlar tyres - I recomend them too!...

Advantages: Great price & fair all rounder Disadvantages: Tyres are poor in mud!
...are great on hard pack surfaces but if you ride in mud, your going to come off, buy decent tyres if going off road in mud!!
