(+) Size, waterproof - quick to erect for size - smaller to carry/load compaired to others. (-) Pole ropes dodgy(?), tricky to shut zip without adjusting pegs, need to tether v. well.
Advantages: Light weight ,extremely quick and easy to put up and take down . Disadvantages: not sure how to stay warm .but thats not the tents fault!
wanted something that would be easy for me to put up and take back down quickly without to much messing.
-I wanted High Quality
About the Tent
The tent comes in a purpose made made bag and is no higher then 29 inches/ 74 cm ,the depth when stood up is no bigger then 10 inches/25 cm ,so is cylindrical in shape.(i'm sure could be folded smaller by someone who knows -as thats how big it is after I repacked it)
also included was 10 standard 7 inch tent pegs . Guy rope was included .
This tent comes only with 3 poles which are light and fold down small and very quickly . Although they seem small and fold down easily ,when in place they are strong and hold the tent up very sturdily. Also a repair part was included should one of your poles be damaged .
Putting up the Tent.
First Lay a ground sheet.
You have 2 main poles which you put through ...
Advantages: Lots of space for everyone. Disadvantages: No longer made.
The Khyam Michigan 12 was only made in 2007 so can be hard to come by now. But if you are after a large, well set out tent, and you find one of these then grab it whilst you can.
The tent is an outer pitch first, or all in one. Personally we leave the inners in place which reduces the pitching time.
The tent itself is large and can be difficult and heavy to put up. Saying that I am under 5ft and have limited mobility so if me and hubby can put it up between us then I'm sure others could easily. We have reduced the pitching time to around 30 - 45 minutes now, which is not bad considering. One good thing though, is that although the tent is large it still fits on most pitches so no extra charges.
The tent has 3 inners. All or some can be removed if wanted. The largest is 6 berth. This is used by our 4 children and is just big enough ...
Advantages: Its sooo easy Disadvantages: none that I've found yet
This is the most convenient, quick to erect and roomy tent on the market and is excellent value for money. Now with an opening like that the review better prove it to you. But I am so convinced of my words that this is the first new product I have suggested to ciao and as such thought it only polite to be the first to review it.
The khyam rapidex ridgi dome system is revolutionary, gone are the days of feeding the poles through the canvas before you can put it up, or standing inside a tent holding it still while someone else does the boy scout thing and pulls the canvas over the top. Essentially the main body of the ridgi dometent is permanantly attached to the canvas and it has quick release joints that just pop into place, once this is done the tent is practically up. The benefit of this is you can have a tent that is ...

A classic 3-berth touring dome tent with extended porch area for storage. Also features a double doorway (plenty of room for trash bears) and is erected inner first. The flysheet is made from Weatherweave 2oz polyester with fully taped seams giving a hydrostatic head of 2500mm. The inner tent is breathable polyester and the groundsheets are polyethylene. The frame is a fibreglass pole construction. Porch groundsheet (I would sooner have the Boxster) comes as standard as do a pair of steel sun canopy poles.
