Advantages: Refreshingly original Disadvantages: Not for the easily offended
Curb Your Enthusiasm season 1 is, as the title suggests, the first season of the multiple Emmy nominated show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
This first season is the only season so far not to have some sort of interconnected story arc. Probably because it is the first season, and we need time to get used to the characters and the type of people they are. Anyway, the show is a mockumentary style show following around Larry David as he goes about his normal routines. But all too soon we learn that he is his own worst enemy. He gets accused of things that aren't true and no-one believes him and people take offense at things he says when in fact there was no malice intended. It's almost frustrating having these people flip out and Larry having to explain himself because we know he's basically a nice guy and doesn't mean to say anything offensive ...
Advantages: Wonderfully realised show from a comedic genius Disadvantages: Some may find the bad language and adult storylines a bit too much

Larry, becoming increasingly worried by the day, eventually lies to the studio about the illness of his non-existant step-father and thereby hoping to avoid doing the showpiece.

Advantages: Dry, witty and one of the best comedies around Disadvantages: Takes a bit of getting into at first
Seinfeld was the best comedy series ever produced as far as I am concerned and after it finished I didn?t imagine that there would ever be a series that matched it, or even came close to the idiosyncratic nature of the characters and plots or to making me laugh as much as their antics did.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is in the same style, story wise as Seinfeld, and no surprise there as Larry David is the co-creator, producer and writer of said show. Each episode involves a number of situations that build and build until poor Larry ends up with everything all coming together at the end, normally in an unfortunate collision of events that leave Larry at a loss, once more!
Curb is a fake documentary style look, though it is a sitcom, into the life of Larry David, not unlike The Office except that Larry David is a real person and it is ...
