Advantages: handles perfectly this is a great bike, useful on a range of levels Disadvantages: no rear suspension so on rough tracks you have to stand to avoid jumping off saddle!

before i had this bike, i had always had a specialized mountain bike, and these i found to be equally as good, they also make a wide range of bikes. so choosing a bike that was new to me was a big decision, especially one that came with a £600 price label at the time.
when you go to buy a mountain bike at a shop, the assistant will normally ask you what you want to use your bike for, once you have answeredthat question he will ask you what kind of mountain bike you want, as there are many types of mountain bike i will enlighten you on a few of the types. a rigid is a bike with no suspension, these normally have a traditional diamond frame. then there is hard tail, these bikes have front suspension on the forks but no rear suspension, these also have a diamond frame and this is what type of bike the kona NuNu is. then there is a soft tail, these are bikes with rear suspension but no front suspension and can have a wide range of frames. then there is a full suspension frame, this has front and rear suspension, and is useful for really testing tracks. it is important to get the right frame for you because riding can be exhausting and painful if you dont!
the NuNu has really cool glow in the dark stickers that will look really good in night cycling and advertise what a good bike you are riding!!! but how do you know if you have a good bike? by the components, these are the NuNu's compnents;
The NuNu comes equipped with butted 7005, 3.9lb. aluminum frame, Rock Shox Jett forks, Shimano Alivio front derailleur, Shimano Deore rear derailleur, TruVativ crankset, Shimano Alivio Rapid-Fire indexed shifters, and a Sun Race 11-30 8-speed freewheel/cassette. These are all decent quality, low cost components.
the only problem i have with this bike is that it comes with an AWFUL saddle as it is super Hard and really painful to sit on! so i purchased a new saddle for about £25 so its now alot better, however the bike is now to small for me, and i am moving on to buy a specialized enduro, this is not from bad experience that i am changing makes back to specialized but becasue the bikes that are specialised for the type of riding i am doing are far too expensive when made by kona!
This new Kona Roast features a 7005 downhill alloy frame, a marizocci z5 fly lite air suspension, a drive chain consisting of a race face pordigy chainset and shimano deore LX front and back derallieurs, deore shifter, 9 speed cassette and XT cranks. Having bought this bike I was shiocked at just how good value for money it was, Wioth AVID V brakes and Tioga Down Hill factory tyres It handled like a BMX. This wasn't the first KONA I ever owned, owning a nunu a few years ago 'til I smashed the frame jumping. Even I won't be able to break this Roast frame. I conclude an excellent allround bike for the money ...
