the wet, and while there is a drop off in performance, it is nowhere near as much as with other brands that I have tried.
In mud these pads really do come into their own. They are the only v-brake pad that I have tried that provide any braking at all when covered in mud. Mud is extremely abrasive, and every time you apply the brakes you are applying a grinding paste to your delicate aluminium rims. Before I changed over to the KoolStops, my Avid Rim Wranglers lasted as little as 2 months, and also managed to wear my rear rim past the wear markers in under 9 months. With the KoolStops, not only is the braking vastly improved, but my rims show significantly less wear.
The other small advantage you get is the cartridge pads are a bit easier than the blocks to replace - pull out circlip, press out old pad, push in new pad, replace circlip ...

I have a somewhat eclectic taste in music and it's not unusual to find Guns N Roses in my CD player at the same time as boy band music and cheesy 80's pop. Kool and Soothe
These soft gel sheets are quite new in my medicine box, such as it is. They were bought on a whim, in case Little Miss ever had some kind of fever, and I was interested to see how they would "perform"
**What do they do?**
They promise to immediately cool down a child (why not adult?) and because they are ready for immediate use, they are convenient and can be used any time, any place.
The sheets don't need to be put in the fridge because they are designed to be always cool. The idea is that the water from the sheet evaporates when it touches the heat of the skin, and this produces the cooling effect,
