Due to a below-knee amputation and worsening psoriatic arthritis, I am no longer able to attend my local branch of LA Fitness.
I rang the credit control department of LAF (AKA Waffen SS HQ) and encountered the infamous Darren Knipe, one of the nastiest people I have ever spoken to . He demanded medical proof of my condition. When I offered to send him a photograph of my stump, he told me 'I needed to deal with my problems better'.
He told me he would give me 'one more chance to explain' and when I asked to speak to his manager, he put the phone down.
We then got through to another member of the LAF Stasi called Yuri Groblar, the credit control manager who told me he needed a 'doctor's opinion' on my medical condition and if it was likely to improve. (To my knowledge, medical science still has a way to go before legs can be regenerated.) He said once they had considered the letter, they would make a decision. He also told me my wife would have to contuinue paying unless 'she also has a medical condition'. The impression was that he didn't believe me and was didn't give a monkey's. He just wanted the money.
These people are staggeringly obnoxious, they have obviously been chosen because they enjoy being hateful and rude.
Some companies are heartless and should have a get out clause if somethng like your situation occurs. Life is often tough without the extra crap thrown in. I hope you can get it sorted out and a refund. Just keep writing to them each week or threaten to talk to your local newspapers. Fionaxx

How awful! I've never heard of LA Fitness but they don't sound very nice at all. The reason I've given you an SH is because apart from telling us about their poor customer services you don't tell us about any of the facilities they have.
