I was lured into a one-year membership in this club which, as I realised shortly after I joined, was a huge mistake. The gym was awful – small, stuffy and claustrophobic. The swimming pool looked old and warn-out. I took a session with a personal trainer which cost me an additional (and quite big) amount of money and ended up sick for two weeks as the trainer, in my view, completely miscalculated the amount of pressure I could endure (despite of ... ...goer). Beware that their one-year service contract is designed to effectively keep you hooked for a term longer than one year. I paid in full for the entire year of my membership (during which I visited less than 10 times). That completely put me off going there.

However, the cancellation notice which I mailed to them a month prior to the end of the one-year term was apparently lost and they continued charging me beyond the one-year term and bombarding by letters threatening to apply penalties and other charges. My replies explaining the situation and requests to locate the missing cancellation notice were completely ignored. They said that I should have delivered the notice in person which I could not do as I was outside of the country. To stop the madness of calls and numerous threatening letters, I decided the clear the account (which ended up being equal to a two-month membership plus a hefty penalty) and forget about the nightmare. I do not want to hear about this club ever again. I just want to hope that the money which they extract in this way from their dissatisfied customers like myself will be used to upgrade their frail facilities.

Advantages: Leaving Disadvantages: Joining in the first place
I had the misfortune of joining this awful gym and I ended up having to pay for two gyms as it was impossible to cancel my membership. Be aware you are essentially buying into a credit agreement. I was an idiot and didn't read the small print. The gym itself was dreadful, small and claustrophobic and the worst thing is that they had put a portable aircon unit from the spin class in the room on an upper level, so the unit was pumping out the filthy ... ...(with the exception of one or two) looked totally miserable and the manager I spoke too was rude and bordering on arrogant. The customer care ethic in this company sucks. My experience with this gym actually put me off going to a gym at all! Not a place to go chill out after a hard day in the office. ...
