Lake CX210 Triathlon Cycling Shoes

Advantages: Compatable for LOOK, SPD and TIME cleats
Disadvantages: Only one color scheme

...The Shimano R121 shoe is a very durable and reliable shoe. It is compatable to 3 different cleats: Look, SPD and Time, which makes it very versitale for those of us with more than one bike with different pedals. Although it is almost not worth the trouble of changing cleats, as it is much easier just to buy new shoes instead of removing one cleat and re-installing the other and making all the required adjustments. I have now had this pair of shoes for about 8 or 9 months and have logged way over400 hours and countless miles in them and they are showing less wear than could be expected. I chose to use the Look cleat with my shoe and once I changed froom my Lake shoes to the Shimano shoes I noticed a tremendous amount of added comfort. Advantages: Warm, dry, fit like a glove!
Disadvantages: Pricey

...find them heavy to wear. When I slid my feet inside it was akin to donning a pair of your favorite slippers. The fit was great for me, although I was suspiscious of the closure system, I preffer velcro straps. I'd used a similar closure system before on a pair of Sidi Race shoes, and it had been rendered useless by mud clogging it up, so I was a little wary to see a similar system on this boot.. That said, the ability to adjust the fit around the heal, using velcro, worked well for me. The neoprene cuff at the top of the boot, felt warm and snug. With the boots on, and wearing just a pair of thin summer socks, I well recall my first frosty outing wearing the Lake boots. ...the shoe is at the lower end of the shimano range but offers great value for money when picked up on - line at end of season sales. Tough suede and rubber shell with cambrelle lining makes for a comfortable shoe, both laces and velcro strap offer adequete fastenings and it looks pretty good, a stiff sole allows fairly comfortable walking when needed. Sizing can be a problem due to the ridiclues small system that cycle shoes go by. Its a narrow shoe so make sure not only length but width is accounted for when choosing.Roughly 1 to 2 sizes above normal shoe size should be okay. The attachement of cleats is pretty straight forward as one would expect from shimano, instructions in multi language format are easily understood... Read review
