What is it? A fancy step machine that not only goes up and down but sideways at the same time. The idea is that you are not only working the back of your legs but all your leg muscles at once. It is also an aerobic excerciser so it gets the heart and lungs working and burns calories.
Where do you get it from and how much is it? If you have Sky you can't miss the ads. or the 'phone number. If not just use a search engine. Do shop around. Prices range from £49.99 to £89.99- a big difference. I got mine from play.com. They don't seem to be selling the original now but they do have a lateral stepper for £44.99.
Where can you use it? Pretty much anywhere around the home except in the bath or shower. It is portable but it is relatively heavy and quite awkward to carry so don't store it too far from where you want to use it. It does need a regular dose of WD40 to prevent it from squeaking so using it in the bedroom when your partner is still asleep would not be a good idea.
Any complaints? I got mine cheap but it did not come with the cords or the workout video. This meant I wasn't excercising my upper body but I bought a set of small dumbells and use these while stepping. It can be difficult to get the hang of getting on and off the stepper at first so do be sensible and place it near something you can hold onto Also I have a prolapsed disc and find if my balance is not exactly right the side to side movements do put a strain on my back whereas a normal up and down stepper does not.
Does it work? Yes. I am definitely fitter 4 months on and my bum, tummy and legs are more toned. So go ahead and buy one and happy stepping!

Best wishes for safe exercising without further damaging your back. If anyone is in any doubt about what is safe for them, I hope they ask their doctor. Lucky x
