First off, the lateral thigh trainer is like a stepping machine but they go out to the side, not just up and down.i first saw the lateral thightrainer on one of those teleshopping channels. the advert was so cheesy yet convincing so i went online to see if i could get them any cheaper. (original price about £90!) i havn't lost weight yet but ive only been working out for about 3 days so i will keep you updated...i am 9st 3 and im only 5ft 1 so i want to loose a stone (hopefully).
WhErE fRoM??? i bought mine from www.ross-fitness.co.uk for £54.95 which was a much better deal. you also get free:
HoW LoNg??? well there was a delay on delivery which i was a bit annoyed about but it only took about 7 days in the end which included a bank holiday and a weekend.
WhAt aRe tHeY LiKe??? i was surprised at how heavy they were, but they are very easy to use and are very clear on what to do. there is a lever at the back which you can change to make them go slower but harder (for toning) or faster (for calorie burning). when i first stepped on them i was a bit wobbly lol but they are so easy to use once you get used to them.
WhAt AcTuAlLy HaPpEnS??? in the booklet it says for beginners to do 5 mins to start off. but after 5 mins i couldn't really feel any burn in my legs so carried on to do the full 15 mins which practically killed me!! anyway its easy to tell how long youve been on them for because off the timer on the trainer which counts down to the last second...so no excuses!! ive only watched the DVD that came with it once and even then it got boring. usually i just work out in front of the TV to music channels.AnY TiPs sO FaR???
the best exercise i think that you can do on it is called the deep thigh squat, especially if your bottom heavy like me because it really works the thighs and you can really feel the workout.
also the manual tells you to lock the steppers when your not using them to prevent them locking up.DONT it just caused mine to break and took me about an hour to fix. i just leave mine and they havn't locked yet and even if they do just lean hard on them and they will come loose again.
ReSuLtS?? as ive said ive only been doing it for a few days so ill write again in 2 weeks...

I've seen these on TV and was tempted, but then thought of all the other exercise equipment I've got in the attic! Let us know how you get on with it.......
Advantages: Smallish, relatively inexpensive and it works! Disadvantages: On its own it's no use for upper body and not good if you have back problems.
