Full review
Being a dedicated and hard working househusband to a wife 5 kid's and 3 cats as well as numerous fish I was looking for a way to work out as it is very hard for me to take time out and go down the gym or out for a run as I used to do on a regular basis whilst I was out working. Sitting at home as any Housewife or Husband can tell you doe's get a little boring after you have cleaned up and sorted the babies out so I find myself occasionally watching the QVC channels and those like it on the telly.

I noticed the Lateral Thigh Trainer on an advert where you were getting the usual stories of I lost 14 stone in a week and I used to look like this but now I am as slim as a supermodel but even though I know this is a load of rubbish I was still very interested so I got onto my usual shopping channel good old EBay lol and found one on there for only £24.99 with loads of extras that the TV shop wanted £99 for so I bought it and in two days the courier was on my doorstep delivering.

After taking it out of the box and tossing the box aside for the cat's and babies to have fun with I set it up in front of the TV and stuck on MTV to have a go setting it on the hardest setting as I am quite Macho really deep down inside lo not that I must have looked very Macho bopping from side to side to some Take That track on the TV. I climbed on and started as instructed sliding from side to side as I was in my socks I kept slipping off of the steps so had to put my trainers on, just imagine not a pretty sight me in boxer shorts and trainers on a stepper in front of the TV. After about ten minutes I was finished I could not go on anymore and it made me relies just how unfit I had become.

The DVD I got with it was fine but not very interesting the instructor was dull and the music was diabolical so that was discarded very quickly. I also got some stretchy cords that attach to the front and adjust to your arm length to make exercising the arm's and shoulders work whilst sliding from side to side. When I had finished my arms and legs felt like they had run a marathon but how effective the exercise I was doing is questionable. No doubt for the aerobic side of the exercise I was benefiting but I didn't really feel that my muscles and hip's and bum were being worked as described in the adverts yes I do care how they look very feminine of me hey lo maybe this Househusband lark turning me a bit female.

Overall I felt that for an aerobic exercise machine it was great any motion is going to work you lung's but the advert is nothing but lie's and if you are gullible enough to believe all the advert claims then don't buy it but like I said as an aerobic workout it is fantastic and very easy to set up and store away. With various different level's of difficulty it is suitable for those seeking hard exercise or just a gentle work out. Great value for money at £24.99 but would have been mortified to have paid the £99 as on the TV.

THE MACHINE

It is a very simple piece of equipment with two steps on a chain system that can be modified by sliding the tension setting lever at the front. The two step's move back and forward and slightly out to the side with each step supposedly making a great exercise for bum etc. There is a small digital display that can either count calories burnt or steps completed as well as the length of time you have been working out great for monitoring your progress gradually increasing the length of exercise each time.

The power cords are basically glorified lengths of elastic with handles these do add a nice element of exercise and make keeping your balance much easier but again the function will not greatly improve your physical fitness. They charge the earth for the cord's separately so make sure if you are going to buy get it from EBay there are many sellers selling them very cheap now.

The Machine itself is very small so easy to store away when your not using it and no assembly is really required just screwing on the lever for adjusting when you get it and clipping in the digital monitor and clipping on the power cords.

I also got with mine an exercise DVD which as I have said is a waste of time it is very easy to use and much better to watch your favorite soap or music channel whilst exercising. A diet manual is also included but has very bland recipes and quite frankly if you ate what's in that book daily you would lose all the weight from that alone never mind the exercise.
WARNING

Be careful if you are operating around children as they can easily get their little fingers under the steps on in amongst the chains inside whilst you are exercising and I dread to imagine the damage this would cause should fingers get stuck. In addition to this I would also always advise wearing trainers as I tried it without and kept slipping off which is fine for me as I can handle a bump but if you are getting on the fall could cause a lot of damage.

WOULD I RECOMMEND?

Well the answer would have to be yes but only if you are buying it to build on aerobic exercise and certainly not if you are looking to get the miracle result's that they claim on the TV not that anyone ever believes that do they ????.
I would not however pay the inflated prices on the TV make sure you get onto EBay or the Friday Ad website where you can pick them up second hand for a fraction of the price the one I got off EBay was brand new.

Should you need any further information on the above product please drop me a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I always try to keep up with people who take the time to rate my reviews.
