I bought the 2006 model with a triple a few months ago. For around £500 it's a great bike. I was looking at the Specialized Allez, the Trek 1000 and the Reno, but went for the Lemond for it's better components and good looks. The geometry suits me well. I needed a 61 cm frame as I am 6'4''. It's not an all-out racing bike but good enough for my level of riding. Very good on long rides (100 milers and such). Have not had any back aches after lang rides as I had on other bikes previously. The Bontraeger SSL wheel set it came with seems to hold out pretty well too, but I have seen it with the Select wheel set in the shops, which I personally would try to avoid.

A little more info would get higher rating. e.g. what type of bike, mountain or road? detail of suspension, etc.
