Advantages: Good geometry, decent component, comfortable ride Disadvantages: Haven't found any yet
...I bought the 2006 model with a triple a few months ago. For around £500 it's a great bike. I was looking at the Specialized Allez, the Trek 1000 and the Reno, but went for the Lemond for it's better components and good looks. The geometry suits me well. I needed a 61 cm frame as I am 6'4''. It's not an all-out racing bike but good enough for my level of riding. Very good on long rides (100 milers and such). Have not had any back aches after lang rides as I had on other bikes previously. The Bontraeger SSL wheel set it came with seems to hold out pretty well too, but I have seen it with the Select wheel set in the shops, which I personally would try to avoid....

Advantages: the ability to fold up Disadvantages: not able to go offroad due to no suspension
...I really like the brompton l3 bicycle and how it has the capability to fold up into a smaller bicycle that is able to be carried around to wherever you need, and does not need to be locked up. The ride is very smooth along flat roads which do not have any obstacles, but once these begin to appear, like off road, or bad road surfaces, the ride becomes very horrible. The seat sort of digs into the leg area, and there is so much vibration. The other problem is that it does break at the hinge points around the bike, and so costs money to repair, and it takes time to repair. But it is a good road bike so I do recommend it to buyers as it is generally very good for road purposes....

Advantages: Price, Components, Performance Disadvantages: Lack of "street-cred"
...is also a big help, and the sure-footed feel of the TCR adds additional benefit there.
It weighs under 9Kg, so the majority of unnecessary weight is all on me. Heck, there' aren't even any mud guards (or space to fit them). The triple chain-ring provides a wide range, although it sacrifices all-out speed in favour of versatility with tooth-counts of 52, 42 and 30. The smallest chainring can come in handy on a steep climb. The 9-speed sprocket (from 12T up to 23T) means there is a total of 27 gear combinations, although the extreme combinations should be avoided. The ratios are close enough that shifting is smooth and is a great help in maintaining a steady pedalling cadence. The handlebars and dual-function levers allow enough change of position that stiffness can be avoided on all but the longest of rides. The brakes are grippy and have...
