It ws my birthday recently and guess what I got? Not the Beauty Works 10-pad Lean Machine', I hear you say. Yes, that's right not the Beauty Works 10-pad Lean Machine. I actually got the 4-pad version. I think my husband was working on the theory - well she usually returns everything, I might as well buy the cheaper version or perhaps he's just a cheapskate.

Either way, he's wrong this time. I've actually tried this and it's really good. Well come on, you can't go wrong, can you? I can sit in my chair with my feet up, watching tv, eating the belgian chocolates I also got, glass of wine, hooked up to my Beauty Works 4-pad Lean Machine and I'm exercising, toning and slimming. Have I died and gone to heaven or what?

It comes in a handy little sturdy plastic case, with a place for everything. You get everything with it including battery. You can use 2 or 4 pads at a time and the pulse and intensity or adjustable from 0 - 6. I've only got up to almost, nearly, 3. I really can't believe that anyone could go up to 6, unless of course they are massochists.

You don't have to buy fancy gels, simply use water to dampen the pads. The kit comes complete with well illustrated instructions and an order form for extra kits or you can buy the 10-pad version @ £89.99, facial version @ £29.99 etc.

I've only used it 3 times so far. The first time I decided to do as they do in the adverts and lie on my bed in total comfort. My first mistake, I fell asleep and think I used it just a 'tad' too long because next day I felt as though my stomache had been forced to stand in for a trampoline and every time I passed the tv it switched on, (no, no only kidding). Short lived though, soon recovered and up and at it again. This time however 30 mins top. The leaflet suggests 30 - 40 mins per session. One other tip, this is mentioned in the leaflet also and yes, you've guessed it my second mistake. Do not attempt to move the pads whilst they are switched on. If you find they are not in the right place, switch off and move. Cos' oh! boy does that tingle if you don't.

I am going to continue with it though and hopefully it will have some effect. I feel as though I'm more the wide screen version of my former slim line self and anyway that picture of Linda Lusardi on the box makes me so jealous I am determined to succeed.

I also got a Remington Massage Foot Spa but haven't tried that. I'm a bit concerned that if I hook myself up to everything at once, I'll end up being so hyper, I'll have to be scraped off the ceiling. When I do try it I'll let you know.
